Seeking Wonderful Dentist Northbrook, Deerfield, Glenview Area
I am in need of a really good dentist. In my second trimester and my gums are starting to hurt. I don't have a dentist that I like. Looking for a dentist who is professional, patient, gentle, and works well with pregnant women. One other thing...if possible, looking for a dentist with the newest technology. Thank you!!!

I wish I had a great dentist myself! I am also in my second trimester and know I have some cavities, but I just don't have anyone I trust that I feel comfortable going to. But, you might want to check out Dr Phillip Cook in Wilmette. My husband's family has gone to him for a long time and love him. Unfortunately he's not on my insurance so I can't go to him, but they swear by him.

Dr. Eric Bloom. You will love him. He's in Glenview. I work for a dental instrument manufacturer and his hygienist is a good friend of mine so I can promise you that they are using the best instruments and are very aware of all infection control requirements. Melinda is the hygienist - you'll love her, make sure you ask for her. He is one of the nicest men you'll meet and they were great to me when I was pregnant and I came in to observe their office. The assistants are great as well. I think the office number is ###-###-####

Hi J., I'm sorry I do not have a dentist to suggest however I do have something to share. My mother was a nurse on the baby floor of LGH for 25 years, & when I was pregnant I remember her stating to always be very cautious of any dental work during pregnancy. I do not remember exactly why, something about the bacteria in the mouth? I do
remember if it can wait until after baby is born that would be the thing to do. Just a suggestion.

I've been going to Jim Toraason in Glenview (Lake & Pfingsten) for about 20 years. He was new to the practice then, and now he owns it. I LOVE him! I've had some pretty bad issues with my teeth over the years, and Jim has called me at home regularly to check on me, and even volunteered his home and cell phone numbers. He is an extremely accomplished dentist and teaches as well. One day (and this is the only time this happened in my 20 years with him) a dental school student was with him during my checkup. When Jim left the room for a bit, the student told me that all of the students wanted to get into Jim's classes and work with him because he's the best. He has 3 or 4 kids of his own, and is one of the nicest, kindest people you'll ever meet.
