Seeking Transportation for 5-Year-old from 1/2 Day Kindergarten

Hi, I am stepmom to my adorable 5-year-old son who will enter 1/2 day kindergarten September 2nd at Clissold Elementary School. Because of my work schedule, dad's and his mom, we are looking for a small bus or van that will transport him home (2 blocks from the school) at 12 noon. If anyone is aware of reliable, trustworthy, safe transportation for our son in the Beverly/Morgan Park area (110th and Western)in Chicago, I would greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter.

What can I do next?

My son goes to school on the South Side and many of the parents there use My Kid's Limo (www.mykidslimo.com) to commute their kids from various locations on the south side. They seem to be happy with it.

Good luck,

I'm in Oak Lawn, and there are day care programs in the area that offer transportation to and from schools from the day care facility. I am unclear as to what happens once your step-son returns home. Is there a care giver there that cannot leave the house for some reason to pick him up from school? Also, a lot of day care facilities offer kindergarten too and are open from 6am-6pm. We use Oak Lawn Day Nursery (part of a church) on 91st and Ridgeland. Southwest Chicago Christian also has day care/kindergarten. They are expensive, but if you use a reglious organization, you get two tax deductions - one is a day care expense and the other is a "chartiable gift" deduction. The organization will give you a statement at tax time letting you know how much you can claim on your taxes as "chartiable gift". I think you also get a better education with private, religious organizations.
