Seeking Toddler Sports Any Area

Hi There,

I am the mother of a three year old boy and I am looking for toddler sports groups for my son. I am having a hard time finding anything for children under four. I am particularly interested in a soccer league. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

The Soccer Academy on Arcado offers soccer to toddlers as young as 3. I am unsure of the website but if you google "The soccer Academy" you will find it. We looked into it for our son and we are going to take him to a game and see if he is interested. They play their games on Saturday mornings and I think they have one practice a week. As they get older they get more involved and have 2-3 practices a week.

Hope this helps B.

Hi! I dont know what area you live in but the Tucker Rec Center has a great gymnastics program called Tucker Tykes. They also offer many other activities.

I was just reading that there is not a lot of research on how soccer on young bodies affects their physical development because it's a pretty new thing that very young children are playing soccer and other sports.

Check it out!

I would recommend gymnastics because it will help your son with balance.

check with your local YMCA.....they usually have stuff like that....also you local community center..check with the city you live in and get information. My son does Karate and they have classes for 3 year olds.....the teacher is awesome....does stranger awareness and everything. really cool. their number is ###-###-####. The instructor is AWESOME!!

The standard age for youth sports is 4 and sometimes 5 and up. The reason they don't really have organized sports for younger children is because the children are still not at a good level of coordination and stability. It's a higher liability and risk. The Dojo karate studio offers classes to smaller children
