I am a local Surprise instructor for Infant Swimming Resources. Cari is great also (from other post). www.infantswim.com provides a ton of information on this unique, life saving program. Take care. ____@____.com

Hi S.,
I recommend Infant Swim Resource. This is a program designed for infant water survival skills as infants are too young to actually learn how to swim. My daughter's instructor is Cari Lopez and she is located in the Northwest valley in Vistancia.
I had my daughter in the program last summer and she is already enrolled for this summer. The program is designed to teach infants how to float and how to roll over and float and get air. I highly recommend it. The have a website and have certified instructors all over the valley.
Good luck.

You can go to a swim school like some of the ones suggested. Or you can sign up at a community center through the city. When I took my daughter it was $6.00 a 1 month session. You can get on line to the City of Phoenix website and find a community center near you.

I know that Lifetime Fitness has swimming lessons for babies. I too have an 8 month old. What part of town do you live in? I have been looking for other mom's around my age with children - it's really hard to meet friends down here! Do you have a boy or girl?

The YMCA does a parent & child swim class. I recently inquired about it myself and they said if you aren't a member then you have to become a program member which is $30 for a year (and then you can sign up for any program) and the actual class costs $71. Otherwise if you want to become a member then its $56 a month and you have access to the whole facility and the programs are included :)
