Seeking Swim Lessons for Kids

Have you checked the local (german) swimmingpool (Schwimmbad / Freibad)? They call is Schimmstunde or schwimmen lernen (learning how to swim).

They are offered by a certified Swim Meister, Hans Strehl. He has been teaching swimming for over 30 years. The intensive course lasts 2 weeks. It offers 1 hour of instruction Monday through Friday. (Last year we could drop off one half hour early so it was really 1 and a half hours of instruction)

The ages are 5-12.

The location is Gasthof Greif in Edelsfeld.
Rough directions: On HWY 2166 towards Vilseck go past the exit to take you on post. Keep going straight for a few miles(6 km). The turn off for Edelsfeld just veers off to the left. The road is narrow, and the speed limit slow. Keep going into the main part of town on the priority road The Gasthof will be on the left before you leave town. Some Americans take temporary lodging here. Give yourself extra time to find it the first time you go after that it is easy to find.

The price was 70 Euro per child plus a 1 Euro fee for the diploma at the end of the course.

there is a Schwimmbad in the town of Grafenwoehr. I do not know if they have lessons, but they probably do.

If you go to your local schwimbad, they will be able to tell you. At least that was the case in Hanau and now here in Ansbach.
