Seeking Suggestions on How I Can Work and Stay at Home with My Baby

My husband has just informed me that I have to go back to work when my little guy turns one. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. I love being home with my son, and also enjoy being able to drop off and pick my daughter up from school and her extra-curricular activities. Do any of you mothers have any advice or suggestions on going back to work? I have been looking into working from home so I can still be with my son, but I don't want to put any money into something and then it not work out. I am up for any ideas. Thanks in advance!

Good Morning America did a thing on this a few weeks ago. There should be links on thier web page if you search! The only one I remember was liveops.com. I thinnk you have to pay for your background check and have a line just for answering customer service calls. Anyway, the lady was pleased she could work during evenings when kids were in bed and at other down times during the day. I believe she said that by the time she took daycare and commuting expenses out of her previous paycheck she was making a little more and had lots more freedom.

I am also hearing good things about Arbonne. Which is really inexpensive to get started in.

Good Luck!

Hi N.,

I'm in leadership development. I teach, train, and mentor women to own their own home-based business. The women in my group are enjoying great flexibility, great income, driving free cars, and many are earning six-figures.

I am a mother of a 16 mo old and love what I do and I make amazing money. I am a 17 year experienced business executive "refugee", I own three franchise/distributorships, plus my home based leadership business.

I'd love to share some facts with you about my business, so you can see if maybe it's for you. (There's no obligation, no cost, no fee, etc.)

I'm new to this board and will see if I can sent you my contact info privately.

Hi N.,
I recently started a home based Virtual Assistance business. (www.freelanceadminsupport.com) In essence, it requires A LOT of hard work, time, and discipline to start your own business. Not to mention it does require some start up costs. If you don't feel that may be something you're interested in, there are a few Virtual Assistant Companies that subcontract work such as virtualassistantjobs.com, davisva.com, Odesk and contractedwork.com. I haven't really researched those sites extensively because I've been too busy. I just know they're out there.
Good luck on your mission. I SO KNOW how important it is to be home with your kids!

Hi N.-
I'm actually leaving my job to be home with my kids-- I'm expecting my 3rd in July. I started as a consultant for Taste of Home Entertaining- a direct sales company. If you like cooking, entertaining, and decorating your house, you should check out my website. Easy to do, great benefits, and right now there is still time to win the incentive trip- a trip to Orlando in July (bad timimg for me--it's two days before I'm due) Anyways, it definitely lets you schedule your own time, work as much or as little as you need to , and make great money. The site is http://kathiefiorillo.tohe.com Hope it all works out for you:)

Hello N. I see that you have recieved many other responses so I will try my best to keep it simple/short;). I have seen many moms write in stating how they are dreading going back to work. Sometimes with the expenses from gas, daycare, and not to mention the pay you bring home from a pt or ft job its just not even worth it. I did a lot of research and talk with many friends/family about network marketing. I am currently with a company that is not saturated with many consultants (IL), I don't have to spend long hours on the phone or stay up late on the computer, no deliveries or in-home warehouse, no inventory to stock, no quotas, and most importantly I get paid the same day! You can't beat that. If you would like more information please contact me @____@____.com Luck with your search!

Hi N.!

I'm a mother to a 3 year old and a 7 month old (both girls). I love staying home with them and having the opportunity to work as little or as much as I like.

I am a Pampered Chef Consultant. I started with them back in August 2007 when I was 7 months pregnant. There's nothing to it. The products sell it's self. The Pampered Chef is a great company with great people to help you achieve your dreams.

Let me know if this is something you may be interested in.

Good Luck!

Hi, N.!

I am a mother of two children, ages 13 and 19. I am engaged to a wonderful man with two children, ages 2 and 7. The 7 year old lives with us and I stay at home with her.

I spent my entire life in Corporate America, other than when my 19 year old sone was born, until he turned 2. I had to work and over the years since then, I worked my way up to a Director of Recruiting. I built an awesome career for myself, making well over 6 figures, and then I was suddenly laid off, along with my entire recruiting team that I had built, and almost 100 other employees, last November!

At the time, my fiance was a stay-at-home dad, because he had had major back surgery a year earlier and once released back to work, had a hard time finding a good job in his field. Because of my salary, we were able to have him stay home to take his daughter to school and to pick her up every day.

Within three months of my lay off, we were literally buried in late bills, and although I had been trying desperately to find another job, finding one at the salary I was accustomed to, and adding the fact that I do not have a college degree, I simply was not finding any work! Corporate America had also taken its toll on me, having traveled 90% for my Director position, I was barely ever home. The stress and being udervalued and underpaid for my efforts was ridiculous.

I was introduced to an incredible direct marketing business opportunity right before I was laid off, called MonaVie. I had actually bought the product in October and started drinking it, to help me sleep at night and ease the lower back pain I have experienced since the birth of my son. I started talking about the juice to people, as it was benefitting my health greatly, and people wanted to know where they could get some MonaVie.

Long story, short, N.....I made the decision to NEVER go back to a corporate job because life is too short and my family and family values are too important for me to sacrifice. Plus, I know that direct marketing is the way of the future and these companies are the ONLY way for people to make the unlimited income they deserve, based on the efforts they put into it! I realize that, just as there are poorly run and poorly functioning corporations out there, that there are also good and bad direct marketing companies out there. SO....I did a TON of research on MonaVie and everything checked out on top. MonaVie has the product, the timing, the management team and an awesome cause all rolled into one incredible future for those who are looking for good health and good wealth!

So....with all that said.....I'd love to chat with you on the phone and send you some info on MonaVie so at least you can be informed, and then YOU can decide if it is right for you.

I love being at home, working as much or as little as I want to, being able to travel with my fiance and our children, being at all of the school functions and softball games and conferences, without being told by my employer, that I can't go, or without feeling guilty that I am leaving work behind that will need to be tending to, eventually.

MonaVie has been the ultimate blessing for me. Maybe it will be the answer for you too.

Please email me at ____@____.com, take a look at my website at thegreatproduct.com/ourabundantlives. Look at The Product, and look at The Opportunity. I will look forward to hearing from you. I sincerely hope I can solve your dilemma and give you the opportunity to stay home with those amazing, beautiful children!

God Bless!

Also, home daycare is an option. I watch three children (2 each day) and am not licensed by the state, but have my degrees in education. I make about 1500 a month, enough to cover my rent. You have to take into consideration a lot of things (like having kids play with your kids toys, limited abillity to get out during the day, etc.), but it is steady income if you use a contract.

Hi,

I saw your ad and thought I would respond. I am a sahm to 3 beautiful (but very time consuming!) kids. Anyway a couple of months ago I was debating whether or not to go back to work and with daycare costs, and gas prices what they are, I realized I need to do something from home. I thought about doing daycare but realized I value my freedom way too much (and my 3 kids are PLENTY of work;) I found a position with a solid 16 year old company, marketing and enrolling new members into discount health benefit programs. We currently have a promotion untill Octboer 31: $25.00 registration fee, which is normally $95.00. You can work from your house as long as you have internet access and a phone. The company offers 6 months adv. pay, daily pay, health benefits for your entire household, 401k options and life insurance. The position is commission based but very lucrative considering 7 out of 10 people are either uninsured or under insured. The programs are VERY affordable ranging between $19.95 - $59.95 per month for the entire household. This is a booming field to get into given the current economic situation and healthcare crisis. Let me know if you would like more information, it has been a great opportunity for me and my family.

Best of Luck!

Hi N.,

I used to be a teacher, but I desperately wanted to be home with my children. I feel like I am still teaching, but now I have my own business and I am teaching moms how to transform their homes into a healthier, safer environment for their family. I have absolutely no qualms about doing that...it is very rewarding...and so is the pay!! I love to help other moms do what I do as well if that is something they are interested in doing. I would not have left a teaching career if there were not something else rewarding to replace it. I have my own business with Melaleuca, a wellness company, with 23 years of continuous growth and the CEO sits on the Board of Directors for the US Chamber of Commerce.

I am lucky, because I have a great support team who are some of the most successful people in the company...and these are my mentors and with me every step of the way. I love it and my kids love me at home.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, please contact me via phone or email at ____@____.com

Have you considered babysitting? Watching other kids in your home? I did this until we moved last fall. And then my daughter was old enough for preschool. Now, I work at her preschool. :) Perhaps you could find a daycare center to work at where you could also bring your son and that may even have after school care for the older two.
