Seeking Suggestions on Good Digital Camera

Hi moms, I'm hoping Santa will bring my family a new digital camera so just looking for suggestions on a reasonably priced one that is easy to use, durable (got two little boys), and takes great pics! I currently have a Kodak that is about 4-5 years old...time to upgrade as digital cameras have come a long way.....let me know, thanks!!!!

Love my little Canon PowerShot. It's at least easy to use and takes great pics. But I don't have 2 little ones.

Nikon all the way. I bought a Nikon SLR several years ago (expensive and bulky - but totally worth every penny!) and just got a Nikon Coolpix 4000 to carry with me and I love it! In the past I had always bought cannon but the pictures were never that great and the cameras only lasted a couple years tops.

I just got a new Panasonic ZS7 Lumix and so far I love it! It has a lot of functions, nice quick shutter speed (ie. not much lag time between pressing and taking the pic), and nice quality pics.
I found it on amazon.com for over $100 less than "on sale" at Best Buy and other retailers!

I bought a FUJI Finepix this year and I love it. It has 10x zoom, and has "smart" features, like it recognizes faces and landscapes so it knows how to focus.
The salesman was telling me that cameras have really improved in the past few years and you can get a lot more for your money now. He also said that the ones with the viewscreen on both sides are overpriced luxuries---because this is a new feature (new technology/design always costs more when it first appears), and it's only real function is taking photos of YOUSELF, so you can see what you are aiming at.

love my sony cybershot..amazing quality photos!

I have a nikon coolpix... its very awesome, easy to use and takes great pics and vids.

I'm on my second Canon Powershot. The old one still works great but I went for a higher MP and zoom. It is very easy to use and takes fantastic pictures. Mt friends often ask me what type of camera I use. Make sure Santa brings a good size memory card ( inexpensive these days). That way you do not have to worry about running out of space when taking the camera on vacation.
