Seeking Suggestions for a New OB/GYN

I currently live in the St. Charles area, but am totally willing to travel to see a GREAT OB. My husband and I are trying to concieve baby #2 and I have a gut feeling that this month is our month. So, I am shopping for an OB. My dilemma is that I HATED my OB for my son. He made me feel HORRIBLE for gaining an extra 10 pounds while I was pregnant, then forced me to have a C-Section. I would LOVE to go for a VBAC this time and possibly a female OB instead of a male. I am hoping to deliver at either Barnes Jewish St Peters or Missouri Baptist, which is where I had my son. I will have Medicaid/Healthcare USA, if that makes a difference. I have a book for them, but it is SO overwhelming looking at all the names and not knowing where to even start. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I will agree with Linda F and say ditto to all it about Dr. Pearse and Dr. Silber. I had both of my children at St. Lukes with Dr. Carlton Pearse.
Good Luck to you!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dr. Jeff Thompson Obsterical Associates, he accepts Medicaid, he is on St. Louis Top Doctors according to St. Louis magazine and understandably so. He has incredible bedside manor and he is smart and compasionate. He is devoted to his patients and an advocate for the patients rights. Even if he is staffed at the hospital that you deliver and you are unhappy he stands up for you (this happened w/ my sister) I have refered him to ALL of my friends and my family and they all have the same wonderful reactions to the way that he practices (my mom even left her OB that delivered all of us and now goes to him) He has an office in Winghaven and at St. Lukes (314)_###-###-####. I wish he could be my General Practitioner, he has helped me and answered questions for me reguarding non OB related issues and he gives all sides of options you have. Good Luck choosing, I know it is a hard and personal decision.

I saw Dr.Janet Matuszek when I was 18 and then we moved away and I recently decided to go back to her. I really liked her and I've seen lots of people recommend her.

I also really liked Genesis ob's. I switched from them because they closed their St.Peters office, but I would definitely recommend them also.

Someone here (Tara C) has already recommended my doc, Dr. Herrmann. I totally agree with her! He is fantastic.

He is so easy going, yet completely concerned. He made my husband feel at ease and included him the entire process, encouraging him to be involved. St. John's is also a very good hospital.

I didn't self-deliver either of my kids like Tara...I had very two very difficult pregnancies and deliveries. I felt like Dr. Herrmann had everything under control because he always takes the time to make sure you're okay on all levels.

His staff is amazing, too. I drove thirty miles, past five hospitals, to get to Dr. Herrmann! I have also referred my two younger sisters to him (who are 11 years younger and both in college, so he's their first Gyn.); they both think that he is fantastic and refuse to find doctors in their college towns.

Hi! I absolutely recommend Dr. Janet Matuszek. She is in St. Peters off Mexico Road, just past the Rec Plex.

She is wonderful and so is her Nurse Practitioner, Julie Schweitzer. Then entire staff is great.

A couple other people have mentioned her, but Dr. Janet Matuszek delivered my second daughter. I absolutely LOVE her. The staff is wonderful, Julie (her nurse practictioner) is fabulous, and the office staff are super nice and really work with you and your schedule.

She delivers at Mo Bap and St. Luke's in Chesterfield. I delivered at St. Luke's and loved it. I've also heard only great things about MO Bap.

She has two offices. One office is right off of Mexico Rd near the Rec Plex in St. Peters. I'm not sure where the other office is.

Dr Jennifer Smith is a wonderful OB/GYN, her office is in the medical building at Mo. Baptist. I've been seeing her for over 2yrs.

I hope you check her out!

My Daughter In Law went to Physician - Voegtle M.D., Karen - also one of the girls in my office went there. and she has had a few children herself, and is very understandable about weight gain, and what a female goes through during a pregnancy. She is out of St Luke's Hospital on Woods Mill Road, but I went with her to most of her apts, and she was very nice. honestly..

I highly recommend Dr. Janet Matuszek. She is great, as well as her Nurse Practictioner Julie. She has an office in St. Peters.

I LOVE my OB his name is Dr. David Super and he is Super!! he works in a practice and there are two other OB/GYNs that are fantastic also that I've met with. Dr. Glass and Dr. Hugge. Dr.Hugge is a female and Dr.Glass is a male. They are younger doctors that have a really great bedside manner and an even more fantastic approach to patient care. The best part is you'll never have to drive anywhere to give blood or have your ultrasound done because they have thier own in house phlebotomist and ultrasound technician. I'm going to paste thier office information here so you can contact them. Just tell them Rainbow referred you. 9701 Landmark Parkway Dr # 207, Saint Louis, MO 63127-1665, United States (Map)

I hope you find them to be awesome as I do! By the way I was referred to them by my friend Molly.
