Seeking RV Park near NAS Norfolk,VA.
My husband is retired Navy and will be accepting a government job with NAS Norfolk early next month. We own a home in Oklahoma and have a child who will graduate high school in May so the transition to VA will be gradual. We are needing info on temp housing: and are considering staying at an RV park near (or on) the base. It will just be my husband and I and my 6 pound chihuahua. What is your recommendation? We would like a clean, safe, reasonable park that allows small dogs and longer stays.

As retired military you have the resource of the Community Services at NAS Norfolk. Also, with a government move, they should send you packets with all the information you will need. Contact the Norfolk civilian welcome center or the city council and they will be able to help you also. Good luck - it sounds like an exciting time for you. Military retirement is grand!!!!!

My brother is retired Navy and lives in Norfolk with his wife and 2 children and suggests that you check with the base for a list of the parks in the area. Your might also want to check with the Virginia web sites.

Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek Campground this is a military camp site very nice. A very good friend of mine was there over the summer with her family. I saw pictures it is very nice around $20 a day not sure about long term but they are pet friendly might be worth checking out. Good luck with your move and your Husbands new job
