Seeking Reviews on Wooden Swing Set

We are looking to buy a wooden swing set for our son for his birthday and are looking around at all the different types out there we were wondering if anyone has any brand that they would recommend over another?

What can I do next?

We love our "used" Rainbow swingset!!! I know they are very expensive brand new, but we bought one for $1500 off the Craigslist and just re-stained it! Once they are stained, they look brand new again, and they are very good quality sets!! Good luck!

We bought a "rainbow" swingset and it's worth the investment.

We bought the Rainbow one that they have at Costco. It is VERY strudy and considerably less expensive than the ones purchased from the Rainbow company, but there is no installation, you have to put it together yourself. Not an easy task if you are as handy as a rock , like my husband and I are. All in all it wasn't too bad, it just took a lot longer than we expected.

We purchased a wooden swing set for our two boys from Wal-Mart 2 summers ago. The set was a huge hit! The boys loved getting to swing and climb all over the set (monkey bars) and we loved how durable it was. We purchased one of the sets that were under $500 and the only issue we ever had with it was our boys would try to swing too high and since the set was on a semi-unlevel spot of the yard the far end piece would move slightly. However, our boys were 6 and 8 at the time. We ended up selling the unit a few months ago and the new family loves it just as much and says it is still as strong as ever (after being taken down and put back together). Below is a link to all Wal-Mart's swing sets, if you are interested. Good luck!!

We have a redwood swingset from Oklahoma Playgrounds that is carved with the emblem BA in blocks on the wood. The brand is Backyard Adventures. It comes with a lifetime warranty also. They have fixed something for free last year when a stake came loose in the ground. It was expensive (couple thousand dollars) but we got a lot of extras. Having a lifetime warranty on all the parts (no labor charge) is really what sold us. Here's a link to the website.

We got ours at Costco last spring, they have a new version out each year. The 2008 version is even better than the 2007. I believe is was SunValley. It was $1400. I would have loved to get a Rainbow but just wasn't in the budget. Got more for what we wanted to spend here. Sams was another place we looked. We ended up paying someone to put it together though..well worth it because I think it would have taken my husband months and they had it done within 6 hours.

RAINBOW, without a doult. They cost a little more, but are well worth it.
