Seeking Regular Playtime for My Baby Boy in Burbank
Hi! I am a new mom and have a little boy 5 1/2 months old. He is very long and strong for his age so older babies would be welcome! A friend of ours was visiting with her 7 1/2 mo old last weekend from SF & they were the same size. My guy just loved having another baby around. I want to give my son a regular friend! Someone really close would be ideal. I am in Burbank down the street from the airport at Niagara and Empire. Anyone close?

The Burbank Adult School has a great Mommy and Me program. It's set up as a parenting class and you are in a class with other moms with kids similar in age. There is a lead teacher in the class but it's very casual. There is a discussion time and time for the kids to play and moms/dads to talk. It's a great way to meet other moms. I also found it very helpful to know I have a group of other moms and a teacher to talk to about all the questions that come up when you have a baby. Here's the phone number ###-###-####. The new semester starts on Aug. 25th, but you can sign up late if you need to. I highly recommend it.
Good Luck,
C.

Olive Rec Center at I think it's 1100 Clark Ave. is a great place for classes too. Reasonable in price 4 wk to 9 wks in length. Also, the playground is being renovated and will be done around Oct 1. Olive Park was one of my comfort zones back in the day with a new baby. I met alot of cool Moms and Dads and the atmosphere is generally safe and clean with lots of shady spots. There is a baseball field you can cruise by to check out games and I would even bring my babies out there to toddle freely on days when noone was playing.
Good Luck and Have Fun!

You should look into the MOMS(Moms Offering Moms Support) Club. They have a website. They have regular playgroups and it is a great way to meet moms and kids.
