Seeking Referral for EXCELLENT ENT Doc

Ladies, I need your help. I am in desperate need of an excellent ENT doc for my 7 y/o son. He has had chronic nosebleeds since he was about 3. I've taken him to 2 different ENT docs who both said, he'll grow out of it, I can't do anything about it if its not currently bleeding, you worry too much, etc. My son has EXTREME nosebleeds. I'm talking bleeding for hours, trips to the ER (where they don't do anything but watch him) unable to stop nosebleeds. This weekend we had him in the ER for 12 hours -- his nose bled the entire time. Finally an ENT doc was called in and did a "nose patch" where he stuck something up both nostrils and managed to stop the bleeding. They did bloodwork and the results were so bad that I was told that he was very close to needing a transfusion!!!

I need a doctor that will listen to me and not treat me like an overprotective mom, and who will recognize and understand the seriousness of this. I need an answer. Please send any referrals my way. TIA B.

What can I do next?

Bridette,
I have used Dr Richard Grossman in Colleyville. He took out my daughters tonsils and she ate pizza that night. (I hope he wasnt one of the doctors you already saw). Also my oldest daughter has nose bleeds from seasonal allergies. Not ones that are bad however. But when she has one that doesnt stop right away, I put some afrin on a cotton ball and put it up her nose. That sometimes will help. But from what it sounds like you kiddo my be past that. Good luck and I know it is scarey to watch you kid bleed like that. I hope this works out for you.

My son(6 years old) and I see Dr Fawcett in Southlake on 1709.
She is very good at listening and

Good Luck

In Irving Dr Williams is at the Baylor ENT clinic. I think that's what it was called. It's right on the corner of 635 and McArthur (huge buidings). He's great!
