Seeking Recommendations for Double Strollers
Hey Mamas,
I am looking for advice on double strollers. I am pregnant with my second due in August and my first will only be 1 yr 8mths so i will definitely need a double stroller. What do you guys recommend or not recommend? I am not looking to spend a TON of money but i want quality. I know the ranges for strollers are crazy- all the way up to $400 sometimes! Also- did you mamas who have had children close together- did you just use a sling or baby carrier at first and just use a single stroller? I would prefer a side by side stroller vs one in front of the other. Thanks!
D.

I just ordered this stoller and when I got it, it is very nice. The price was great for my budget also. I plan on using a sling with the little one until about 6 months or so. I bought this stroller from amazon.com for $158.00 and it had good reviews. My daughter is 2 and I am due in August. Good Luck!

I have a double side by side mcclaren if you want it. I would want a little bit of money for it but I'm willing to bargain. It's old and used but still works fine. I'm looking for maybe around $40. If you want something really nice the valco is great! But its around $650 so I don't know if that's out of your range...Good luck!

My recommendation may be too pricey, but I've heard lots of raves besides my own for the Phil & Ted's e3. I spent a lot of time researching doubles when I was expecting my 2nd. I didn't like the tandems b/c they were too hard to steer and too long. Didn't like the side by sides/twin strollers b/c they don't fit well through doors or aisles. Compared to the other recommended doubles I researched (mountain buggy, $700), the Phil & Ted's wasn't too bad. They now make a twin stroller. But I liked the Sport Double.
Also, I definitely needed my Baby Bjorn for quite a while. It was often easiest to put the baby in the Baby Bjorn and then my toddler in the stroller.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Chicco Citta Twin in terms of a double umbrella. I have a Kolcraft double umbrella that is also, surprisingly, very nice for as little as it costs ($50). Both are side-by-side, but umbrellas rather than ones to accommodate a carseat. However, if you do Bjorn or sling through the first months, then that shouldn't be an issue.
