Seeking Recommendations for Cabins on North Shore Lake Superior

I'm looking for recommendations for cabins that are right on Lake Superior or family-friendly B&Bs. My dream place would be a stone's throw from the water, have 2 real beds (as opposed to sofa-beds), have a full kitchen, a fire pit, close to kid-friendly hiking, and have some kind of whirlpool/hot tub/sauna (ok, I may be getting greedy with that one.)

What can I do next?

We've stayed at Superior Shores in Two Harbors. The condos can accommodate families, with beds for all. Some also have hot tubs. www.superiorshores-resort.com

Look into Anderson's North Shore Resort in Grand Marais. It's right on the beach just outside of Grand Marais in a very secluded area. I'm not sure if they have hot tubs, but everything else is there. You could also check Elsie's cabins next door-- if you can get ahold of them. They are a bit more rustic, but same great location. Have fun!

HANDS down, Bob's Cabins. So nice and wonderful.
It'll be the most peaceful place you've ever been. RIGHT on Lake Superior, in Two Harbors. You seriously walk out your door to the lake. You can hear it in your cabin. Reasonable prices, too.

Bluefin Bay is great! I stayed there with my husband and was a stone's throw from the water! I would highly recommend it! Also was able to get massages!!
They have the fire pit as well - look online!

Hi. The place I absolutely love it Lutsen resort and sea villas. I have been going there since I was little and it is everything you described. Very family friendly, hiking near by, pool, playground, right on the lake if you stay in the sea villas. It's wonderful I would at least check it out. Have fun!

Bluefin Bay is great; I know several people that go yearly and love it! Also, try looking up neighboring towns. We stayed in Two Harbors last year but I'm not sure what the name of it was. It was condos right on Superior and it was wonderful. Try this website for more info:

We LOVE Bluefin too! We don't get a room w/ a kitchen - they have 3 places to eat there...casual to fancy.

My husband and I are planning on staying @ Larsmont Cottages in Two Harbors (just north of Duluth) this October for our anniversary - it is just one year old and was reviewed in Minnesota Monthly mag as one of the best b&b's - from it's website it appears that it would be a family friendly place with a few different options for accomodations. It is a bit pricey during the peak season, but more reasonable if you can go during regular season. It is on the water and they have bikes and kayaks available for loan. website is www.larsmontcottages.com
