Seeking Recommendations for a Good OBGYN near Southlake/Keller/Lewisville Area
I am moving to Southlake in a few weeks from California and I am 15 weeks pregnant. I'd love to hear from fellow moms about good OBGYN's in the area. This is my 2nd pregnancy and so far, it has been a normal pregnancy with no complications. I am willing to travel a bit so the office doesn't have to be directly in Southlake. Thank you in advance for your recommendations!
So What Happened?™
I just want to thank everyone for the many helpful responses and recommendations I received! I have decided to try out the office of Doctors' Mendez, Rost and New since they had the most widely positive feedback. You have all helped our transition greatly! Thanks again :) :)

My obgyn is Andrea Galusha at Lewisville Medical Center(office in Flower Mound, too). When my second child decided he was ready to join us on weekend night, Dr. Galush's partner Vicki Jo Allen was the doctor on call for deliveries and I absolutely loved her. I would suggest either one of these doctors.

Dr. Kilianski at North Texas Women's Healthcare is awesome. He is Chief of Obstetrics at Baylor Grapevine and has an office there as well as at 1141 Keller Parkway in Keller. The phone number is ###-###-#### and their website address is www.myobg.com. He delivered twins via c-section for me in 2002 and Dr. Vaughan assisted. Both were great, as were all the office staff.

Welcome to Texas! I definitely do not recommend North Texas Women's Health Care. I'm not going to name any specific doctors. But, they totally mishandled my 2 failed pregnancies. My first pregnancy, I went to bed early, and my daughter came early. When we were finally successful in conceiving again, I had 2 miscarriages in a row. I know things happen, but I was given a misdiagnosis as to why. I was also told at age 29 that if I wanted to have any more kids, that I better hurry up because I wasn't getting any younger. That made me find a doctor that I really like. Dr. Unell with The FEM Center in Colleyville. http://www.femcentre.com/ He is great, and was also dumfounded that I wasn't referred to a high risk doctor when I got pregnant again. This practice really likes to use the more natural approach to medicine. If you are in need of a high risk doctor, Dr. Bannie Tabor with Obstetrix Medical Group is awesome. ###-###-#### http://ftworthmfm.obstetrix.com/ He is my doctor now. He also told me that my last miscarriage could have been prevented. Good Luck!

Hi A.,
I was in your exact same position when I first moved to Southlake. However, I was in an extremely high risk pregnancy and I am only in my late 20's. My first pregnancy was greatly mishandled by a Dr in Chicago. My son and my own life was put in risk. After extensive research and recommendations I met with Dr. Julia Flowers. Dr. Flowers did not risk anything and was the most aggressive of any OB I have ever seen. She never left anything to chance and acted on anything and everything. Due to this type of aggression I was properly monitored with perinatology and medicated as needed with my condition. My son was delivered healthy and I owe it all to Dr. Flowers. Not only is she brilliant, her bedside manor is impecable and she sees you personally every appointment and never makes you feel rushed. No nurse practioners. Only the Dr.
For the person who had the friend with Dr. Wai. I am so sorry that is AWFUL!! He reminds me of my old OB/GYN and I know a lady who also suffered the same complication I suffered with my first c-section with him. Someone beyond "rare" - he is in the same practice as Dr. Flowers. But in no way shape or form so they intertwine patients. Dr. Flowers delivers all of her own babies!!
I am going to comment on Womens Intergrated. My friend had Dr. Cope - my friend was also being told her baby was seriously ill by a nurse practioner and at 20 weeks had yet to meet Dr. Cope. She switched to Dr. Flowers. She is the 5th person I know to leave intergrated and move to Dr. Flowers. Having babies is so common here :) On the other hand my neighbor did have Dr. Allen and was happy there. The only person I know who was happy at IWH.
Good Luck with you move. :)

Welcome to Texas!!! I think you will love it here---
I see Dr. Angelo Mendez over by Baylor Grapevine... He practices with Dr. New and Dr. Rost, who I also have heard good things about. Dr. Mendez is an excellent OBGYN! I have been going to him for almost 15 years- he not only delivered my child, but also has delivered over two dozen other children whose mommies are friends of mine- several parents and women whom I taught with... as well as my nephew. His nurses, Bonita and Yossi are so pleasant and really get to know YOU as a person- I never feel rushed or like 'just another patient'. Dr. Mendez even got a new toy out of his office for my last visit for my son to play with and take home- they are so good to our family too. I can not say enough wonderful things about ALL of my experiences with Dr. Mendez. I have had to have some scary procedures done earlier on, and he is always so calming through it all- which is what I, personally, have needed. If you want more info, feel free to message me...

I highly recommend Women's Integrated Healthcare and its staff of doctors. Dr. Allen is my personal OBGYN...she delivered both my boys (age 5 and age 3). I have a few friends that see Dr. Cope and love her too. The staff is awesome as well. They all deliver at Baylor Grapevine, which is a great facility. Info:

I go to Dr. Troy New at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine. I absolutely love him! I see him at every appointment throughout my pregnancy, and he has great bedside manner. He takes the time to answer every question I have, and never seems rushed to get out of there. Yet, I never have to wait long at appointments. I'd highly recommend him.
