Seeking Playgroups or Mom's Clubs in Oakdale, MN

I will be switching from FT employment to PT in the near future so that I can stay home during the day with our two boys age 3 1/2 & almost 1yr. I have been looking for a local Mom's Club or Playgroup to join to keep my boys active. I would like to join a group that focuses more on activities for the children; like going to the zoo as a group, playdates, picnics, craft projects and etc.

What can I do next?

I went to a class called: Music Together. They have many location throughout the Twin Citites. It is multi-age, multi-cultural dance and music. Loved it! Hoping I can manage a session in the summer after I'm done teaching school.
You can do a trial class:

I'm part of the Twin Cities East chapter of Mothers & More (www.mothersandmoretce.org) which someone already mentioned. Among other things, part of what I really enjoy is that the mothers who belong are more interested in what we have in common vs. whether or not we're at-home parents.

There's a good blend of at-home parents, people making work/home transitions like the one you are making, and people who are juggling paid work and parenting. The other things I like are that I won't suddenly "outgrow" the organization because my kids reach a certain age, and that we have a mix of daytime and evening activities.

We have a chapter meeting on Tues., 1/22 called "Healthy Home: Limiting Family Exposure to Toxic Substances" all about being more aware of the toxins in common household products our families use. Details are at the website -- come check it out if you're available!

I am a full time SAHM with funny, active, boys the same age as yours, plus a 5 yr old. We live on the east side of St. Paul near Beaver Lake. We are very active, enjoy playing outside, doing crafts, and exploring around the Cities. We're always looking to make new friends!

There is also a meetup group in St. Paul that does stuff in the surrounding areas. It's called the Stay at Home Mom group, but there are lots of part time moms that are members. The nice thing about meetup is that you can be involved as much or as little as you want. The St. Paul group raises it's own money and is open to any MOM that wants to join. Hope to meet you sometime. Here's the link:

I once spoke to a GREAT mom's group which meets in Oakdale, and highly recommend getting connected with them. Check out the east chapter of Mothers and More. You can get more information about their activities etc. at www.mothersandmoretce.org Really a great group of moms!

I wish you well in your transition to part-time out of the home work. Remember to set aside time to PLAY with your boys, focusing on them and the fun completely (letting the dishes in the sink and the laundry in the dryer wait their turn.) You won't regret it and your boys will revel in your undivided attention. Also remember to take time for yourself and reconnect with what nourishes you from the inside out.

I am also in Oakdale and I have a 10yr old daughter, 4yr old son and 3 month old daughter.

I joined the Woodbury area Mom's Club a few months back, although I havent' been to any of the activities yet because of my yougest, everyone seems very nice on the message boards.
