Hello, Mamas!

We are moving to Lacey soon and I'm trying to get everything all lined up. We have two little girls, ages 4 and 2 and we're looking for a great pediatrician for them. We would prefer a female doc and would appreciate any recommendations you can give us!

Also, we are looking for a Great pediatric dentist. We had a bad experience with our last one that left my oldest a bit apprehensive about the dentist, so one that is especially patient and gentle would be great!

On another note....if you have an OB/GYN you love, I'd love to get a recommedation for that as well.

Thanks in advance for the help!!!
=)S.

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! We are all set up at Hawks Prairie Denistry (they are AWESOME) and Olympia Pediatrics (they're GREAT too!). I'll be calling to set up my gyn appt. next.

I really appreciate your advice! Thanks a bunch!! =)

Olympia Pediatrics is a great place...my daughter sees Amy Belko and we love her, but she isn't taking new patients. There are other female Dr.s there and I think Dr. Sipher is taking new patients. I go to Dr. Goble (ob/gyn) and she is great. They have a group of 4 women and 1 new male Dr. (I haven't seen him yet) and it was great during pregnancy...you met with each doctor for at least one of the check ups so you at least had seen the Dr. who delivers your baby - whichever one happens to be working when you go into labor. Both Oly pediatrics and Oly ob/gyn offices are right past the hospital off Lilly road.

Good luck and welcome to the area...it's a great place especially to raise kids!

This is the website for Dr. Truyen O'Leary. I think she's exactly the kind of dentist you're looking for. She's a family dentist, so my son (he's 29 months) and I both go to her. She lives in my neighborhood and found out that she was opening a dental practice at the same time I was looking for a dentist for my son. I was so glad that I changed denstist to go to her. She was so great with my son on his first dental visit (so far the only one we've had, his 2nd one is this week). She was very gentle with him & careful not to upset him too much. She let him walk all around the office, had him give me a ride in the dental chair, showed him all of the dental gadgets in the room, etc. She did want to make sure to get a good look at his teeth, which he didn't like all that much, but made it as quick as possible.

Good luck!!

For the kids I like http://www.heritagefamilymedicine.com/
The Dr is male, but the nurse practitioner is female, and great.
They do not rush you, they work with you. My 14 year old son loves Pat Davis.
They also do not get upset if you use natural medicine.

As for dentist, I would stay away from Dr Frankenhouser (spelling?) He traumatized my daughter. Sea Mar dental was good, and then there was a dr down town Olympia that was great. I can tell you how to get to his office but I cannot remember his name. He ended up doing oral surgery on my daughter so ALL of her teeth got fixed at once.

Now for you, I love Karen Swift. She is by St. Peters hospital. She is a midwife, but she does GYN Stuff as well. Or Pat Davis from the Heritage family medicine.

Welcome to Lacey. If you need anything else please feel free to email me.

Hi S.!
Welcome to the area! We, along with all of our friends, use Dr. Lindgren as our pediatrician. He has a very proactive approach. He also has a female Nurse Practicioner who you can request to see nearly each time. We use Dr. Andy Kapust as our pediatric dentist. It's such a great office for kids!
Good luck on your move!

All the pediatricians at Olympia Pediatrics are great. My sister has seen Amy Belko for 11 years now without one complaint. We see Dana Peterson in the same clinic but he is male. As for OB/GYNs I love Laurel Dickason at South Sound Women's center they also have a newer doctor over there who is very knowledgible. FYI most doctors will see you for an interview with no cost. I've always found this helpful in determining if a doctor was a good fit for my family.

I would recommend Sara Murdoch. She was my children's pediatrician for some time before we had to switch insurances. She is near the hospital on Ensign Rd. I think she is part of the Pediatric Associates . She was the best and really trusted mother's instinct. I was sad when we had to leave her.

Okay I hope this link works http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/washington/pediatri...

Good luck

hey! welcome to the area!
I don't know about pediatricians... although I have heard that Beth Hurley is really good. I tried to get in with her, but she did not take tricare, which is our new insurance. by the way, it looks as if none of the offices take tricare now, if you have that insurance.
I have been taking my kids to Dr. Allinder! The whole office is great. His office is located at the corner of yelm hwy and blvd.
Do Not go to Williamette dental(spelling)!!! I have caught them in a lie and they do not take care of their patients.

Good luck.

Hope you find what you need.
