Seeking Pediatrician in Grosse Pointes/St Clair Shores/EAST SIDE Area
I am 19 weeks pregnant with our 1st child and need recommendations on pediatricians in the area. We live in GP Woods but my OB is in Birmingham and we are delivering at Royal Oak Beaumont. We need to find a great local pediatrician.
If anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to start calling around to doctors I hear of by word-of-mouth to see who's taking new patients, who takes our insurance (Blue Care) and who will work with us on the fact that baby will be delivered in Royal Oak.
Once we get that red tape out of the way we can see if our personalities mesh. We are basically seeking "Dr. Right" :o)
THANKS in advance.
So What Happened?™
THANK YOU all so much for responding to my request for local pediatricians. It means a lot to me and is making my search for "Dr. Right" a lot easier. I am in the process of making appointments to meet with each doctor. THANKS AGAIN!!

St. John Pediatrics, I have been taking my kids there for years. My sister had refered me to them she had taken her children there for years. They have a location on 9 mile in St. Clair Shores and also on Romeo Plank in Macomb Township.
Good luck with the new baby.

We use a group in Roseville called Pediatric Clinic. They are great. Have been using some of them for over 5 years. They are located on Kelly Road between 10 Mile and Frazho. I am not sure if they take BCN. But you could call them ###-###-####.

I take both my girls to Pointe Pediatrics in Grosse Pointe Woods. It is right on Mack just north of Vernier. My husband and I both love Dr. Landers and his partner. My older daughter has been going there for years and my younger one since she was born. I love it being a smaller practice and them knowing my girls and I. Its so nice when you walk in and your child is greeted by the staff even in the hall w/o a chart.. Also the other thing I love is he has 2 seperate offices in the building one for the well kids and one for the sick kids. So you never take your well child into the office with the sick children. Hope this helps you some..

I have a four year old and since he was born he has seen Dr. Landers, whose office is at Mack/Hollywood in GPW. He is great so far. His staff is wonderful, always polite and friendly, I've never had a bad experience there; nor have I seen or heard of anyone else having a bad experience there. He also has an associate there who is a D.O., her name is Dr. Kini, and I take my son to her for his asthma appointments because she too has asthma. Dr. Landers is an M.D., but is not "antibiotic-aggressive", as in he doesn't automatically treat with antibiotics just for the sake of it. He does follow the APA schedule for vaccinations, so if you are considering not vaccinating, I'd choose a different doctor. I hope that helps!!

Northpointe Pediatrics is wonderful, they are out on Schoenherr, not sure if they would go to RO where you are delivering. They have a great staff and my daughter LOVES them! Also I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Abiragi, I don't know the name of the practice but they are on 10 mile in the shores. I know them personally, both the mom and dad are in the practice and they have kids as well. GREAT FAMILY!

I take my son to Northpointe Pediatrics on Schoenerr. It's a bit of a drive, but it's so worth it. They have several great doctors and their nurse line is extremely helpful.
