There is an organization called Iniatives for Children that has a child care referral service. They keep track of what's in your area and all kinds of info on the caregiver such as are they licensed by the state, smoker, pets, fenced yard, etc. I do not know the phone number off the top of my head but I'm certain they are listed in the phone book.
