Seeking Other Moms in Richardson Trying to Lose Baby Weight
I had my second child, a gorgeous baby boy, almost 2 years ago; I have yet to lose the weight. Does anyone have any ideas or know of some groups that I could join? I think one of my proble,s is that I am not accountable to anyone; So a group might work for me.
Thank you all!! Happy New Year!

I live in Richardson and would be interested in walking with someone a couple times a week. I had my daughter almost 18 months ago and have gained weight since. I really need a distraction to help me get out of the house and not eat just b/c I am a little bit bored.

Hi- I host weight loss challenges, I have one starting in a couple of weeks. It's $35 for a 12 week course, but the registration fees are paid out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place losers. I have three kids, 5 and under, my last was born in Nov. 07 and since he was born I have lost 80lbs and over 40 inches. I can send you my before and after if you want to see. I weigh less now than I did before my first baby was born. Let me know-and good luck, there's nothing better than having beautiful kids and loving yourself as much as you love them!!!

I know what you are talking about! It took me two years and 3 months after my daughter was born to start losing weight. I finally implemented what I call my Healthy Eating Plan. It's a set of rules I follow that are rather strict, but that really work for me. Exercise is good, but it often lulls us into thinking we can eat what we want. I find changing what I eat most effective.
For accountability I started to blog about wanting to lose weight and described my plan. Once a week I tell how much I am weighing. So any random stranger that comes upon my blog can read rather personal information about me. That is a GREAT deterrent for me!
I describe my plan here: http://shoozieshoes.blogspot.com/2008/12/healthy-eating-p...
I am by no means a professional, so take it for what it is - something that has worked for me. ;-)
Best wishes with your own plan!

Hi T., I own a Curves for women in Richardson. We are starting a free weight management class on Jan. 24 from 12noon until 1:30. It's only once a month. If you come to the class you will receive a voucher for a free month to use our on-line Curves Complete weight management program. You don't have to be a member. Please call our club at ###-###-#### to sign up. We don't,however, offer child care. We will support you, and you will see permanent results.

I would recommend joining a health club which offers classes and provides childcare. At LifeTime Fitness, there are classes all day long, starting at 5:30 in the morning. The monthly membership is pretty much fixed but you can definitely "negociate" the joining fee. They are actually waving the joining fee those days.
You can check out their program on the website=:

I am a member since I've moved to Richardson 3 years ago and am very happy.
Hope this help.

Aside from exercise (which is very important) I would recommend Weight Watchers. I have been a member for several years. It teaches you how to change forever and it works. Changing your eating habits with Weight Watchers and exercise will shed those pounds. Also, every Dr. I know has told me that WW is the best plan. Good luck and I am sure you will succeed!! If we lived closer I would love to have a workout buddy!
