Dr. Shelia Birth is excellent! She is located on Bardin. (I think I spelled it right) Anyway, they are really good with the kids over there. My daughter got hers at 12 yo as well.

Although already mentioned, I'll also recommend Island Orthodontics in Mansfield. We had a great experience! I'm not sure what area of Arlington you are in so location might be a factor.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Moody Alexander. I went to him as an adult, but they really cater to the kids. I was always impressed with how he took an interest in each child. He talked to them about what was going on in their life and everyone one on his staff has such a positive attitude. Even as an adult I looked forward to going to my appointments!!!

My two children both went to Clayton Ellis. He did a great job, and was very accommodating about things like brackets that needed repair, lost retainers, etc. Both are finished, and their teeth look great!

He even offered to give me a very low price on braces for me, due to bringing him two children. My lower retainer broke some time in early adulthood. My original orthodontist had died, so I just stopped wearing it. Over the years, my teeth shifted. Warn your daughter to never stop wearing hers! (Ellis puts in a permanent bottom retainer, so there's no way to forget to wear it.) I decided against getting braces again for me, because I didn't want to be in my 40's with braces! But he was very kind to offer a lower rate for mine.

Sounds like there are some great orthodontists around.

We love Dr. Barbare and his staff. Cooper rd in Arlington. Just South of the 20. The traffic isn't too bad. He took over the care of my daughter's orthodontic care after our move from CA. His course of treatment has prooved better than what we had in CA.

I don't know of anyone you can visit in Arlington. But I would recommend to stay away from FASTBRACES. I am their patient and I am yet to be satisfied with the treatment.

Ask your general dentist who they refer to. He or she will be familiar with the treatment of the orthodontists in the area and know who to refer to and who to steer clear of. I work for a dentist in Mesquite, but don't know of orthodontists in Arlington. I will say, though, stay away from clinics (Monarch, etc). Stick to strictly private practice dentists. And make sure they are either board certified or board eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics (not a general dentist who went to a weekend class to learn ortho)

My daughter just got braces yesterday. I highly recommend Island Ortho in Mansfield. There are 3 orthodontist there, and all 3 three are great. You will not be disappointed.

We used Dr. Shelley Tardy for all four of my children and we all loved her! The office is planned around kids (& teens, of course), the office staff is all great, and the location is very convenient. Her office is on 287 between Arlington and Mansfield (no Arlington traffic to deal with!). She's a great person & she has teens of her own so she relates well to the patients.

Dr. Moody Alexander on Mitchell, son of Dr. "Wick" Alexander and is awesome. We are using him second generation.
