Seeking Obgyn/hospital for Natural Childbirth

I live in Oklahoma City but both of my obgyn's have retired. My husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant but I don't currently have a doctor. My yearly is due and I want to find someone that I will also use through the delivery. I would like a female with a good bedside manner and that would not force and epidural (or other things) on me if I decide I don't want it. Also, I am trying to decide between Baptist and Lakeside if anyone has any input. Thanks in advance for any help! Oh ya, this will be my first pregnancy.

What can I do next?

I don't have an OB for you, but want to give you my thoughts on choosing a hospital.
Lakeside does not have a NICU, also called tertiary nursery or Level 3 Nursery. If anything should happen to the baby, the doctor will transfer the baby to Baptist or OU, which have NICU. That means mom would be seperated from baby.
I worked at a place with a NICU, and I can tell you firsthand the heartache many moms felt when they weren't at the same facility with their newborn. Quite a few would request an early discharge so they could see their baby. Early releases can lead to more postpartum complications.
Even if the baby is born at term, things can happen.
I wouldn't deliver at Lakeside, ever.

I loved Mercy Hospital in North Oklahoma City. Dr Akhtar Hameed was my OBGYN. He was great. But you would wait hrs at his office for an appointment. He works out of St Anthony's Hospital if he hasn't retired yet. I also had a baby at St Anthony's, but wasn't very happy with their care. Hope this helps.

I would look into using a Midwife. I loved having Dr Nightengale at OUMC. GL!

I loved Dr Hansen at OU Physicians for Women's Health. She and her partners do deliver at OU Medical Center which was GREAT in the delivery room but not so great once they moved you to a regular room.

The labor and delivery nurses were amazing!

Dr. Hansen and her partner that actually did the delivery were both great, I highly recommend their office.
