Seeking Ob/gyn in Latham, NY Area

I'm new to the Albany, NY area and 16 weeks pregnant. (we just moved from Ohio and I adored my OB there so it's going to be a tough act to follow.) I need to find a good ob/gyn! From what I understand, Bellevue is a great place to deliver - I would prefer a dr who will go there. I saw someone for the 16 week checkup and it wasn't a good fit. I need to find someone soon to schedule the 20 week checkup. Any advice is certainly appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks everyone for their great advice! It really was helpful - particularly being so new to the Albany area. I ended up going with Clark, Clements, Syeda and Klein. My first appt is next week, but I had to go in unexpectedly for early contractions and Dr Syeda was wonderful!! It really seems like a great practice. Thank you again!! (Oh and all is fine with the baby and the contractions too.)

Hi!

Welcome to the area. I really love the practice where I go and find it to be a very comfortable place. It's Mondragon and McGrinder. They have two offices; one in Clifton Park and one in Schenectady. They deliver at Bellevue. I just had my second baby with this practice 3 weeks ago. Any questions just ask!

I have had an excellent experience with the practice of Mondragon and McGrinder. They have an office in Clifton Park (closer to Halfmoon and exit 8A off the Northway) and one in Schenectady. I prefer the Clifton Park office ###-###-####), much smaller and quieter. They all deliver at Bellevue, and the practice has no history of malpractice. On a side note, I had a natural birth using hypnobirthing methods and Dr. McGrinder and one of the nurses complimented me on how well it went! Of course it is all a personal choice, just wanted to put my reference in!

Welcome to the Capital District! My OB/GYN practice is Drs Clark, Clements, and Syeda in Latham. It's a great practice and highly regarded; however, I don't know if they work with Bellevue. I delivered my first at St. Peter's (Dr. Syeda delivered) and my second at Albany Med (Dr. Clements delivered) and I had great experiences at both hospitals with both doctors. I hope this helps. Best wishes for a healthy, comfortable pregnancy.

Hi A.,

Congrats on your pregnancy! I can't say enough about the OB/GYNs at CareNet Medical Group. They have two offices - one in Schenectady (River Road, Niskayuna), and the other on Rte. 9 in Clifton Park. They have high-tech ultrasound at both offices (yes, even 4D/3D available there!), and both offices have a lab that operates through Albany Med. for all your blood & sugar testing. It just doesn't get more convenient than that! I love the docs. Dr. Tsao delivered my first son in 2005, and Dr. Cheon-Lee delivered my second son earlier this year. They do deliver at Bellevue (they delivered my boys at St. Clare's, which has since consolidated with Ellis and Bellevue). Check out their website: www.carenetmedical.com I absolutely love them!!

My doctors office is in clifon park which is too far for you but if I was picking a doctor I would pick a doctor that participates at Bellevue Womens Hospital in Nyskiuna(I know I spelled that wrong). That hospital is great!! They took great care of me. you can go on there web site to see what doctors practice there. good luck

My OB/GYN office is in Troy, but I think they have office in Albany too. The number is ###-###-#### and they go to Samaritan Hospital in Troy which I was not too thrilled with and they go to St.Peter's which is in Albany on South Manning Blvd. and I love this hospital. So, if you want to call them and talk with them. I like Dr.Bloss and second one will be Dr. Ford and the third one is Dr. Elacqua. That is in the order of drs I like from the office. Everyone is different and different personalities matching counts too.
Let us know how you made out and if any questions we would gladly be there to answer if we can and if you want to e-mail me personally feel free and I'll answer whatever questions you have. I'll pray that Jesus give you His Wisdom if you ask for Him to.

Hi, congratulations! and welcome to the capitol district! I am very pleased with the Dr's at Carenet Medical group in Schenectady and Clifton Park. They deliver at bellevue. There equipment is very high tech and they take the upmost care and concern for you and your baby. With my ultrasound they found my son's kidney's to be enlarged and kept calling me back for more ultrasounds to monitor their growth. They made sure my son's pediatrician was aware of the pre-natal growth.

Congrats!
I love the practice I have been going to but they don't deliver at Bellevue. I am due today with my second child. In case you are interested the practice name I currently go to is Upstate Ob Gyn and they are located on Washington Avenue Ext ###-###-####). They only deliver at St. Peter's Hospital.

I had my first child at Bellevue and thought it was an ok experience but most of my friends actually deliver at St. Peter's or Albany Med and really like those facilities (I have been told they are more equipped to handle all possible emergency situations should you need it.)
I hope you find this information helpful.
