Seeking No Sugar Frosting Recipe
My son will be one this Wednesday. His party is on Saturday and I want to make a cake and frosting with no sugar. I have a cake recipe but not a frosting recipe. Any recommendations? Another thing: is whipped topping OK for a one year old?

I went used to go to weight watchers. They said buy a cake mix of what ever one you want then instead of adding egg, oil or any of that other stuff. Put in 1 can of diet soda. Cook are recemended on box. Then ice with cool whip (can use suger free). If you want color add food coloring. I tried the cake and it was awesome! very moist. The icing was perfect too. how this helps

I am not sure how much sugar is in coolwhip, but a great frosting recipe I use.......coolwhip, one small package sugarfree pudding (whatever flavor you like), half a cup or so sour cream, crushed pineapple (or whatever canned fruit you like). This recipe is so versitile. You can really add anything you like. I even mix in a bit of powdered sugar to it. The whole family loves it, and we do not eat frosting. I hope it helps. Happy first birthday to your little son!!!!

Hi,
Try looking up a recipe for a butter cream frosting. My family has used this for years and it's wonderful. Although I personally don't have the recipe. It does come out sorta whipped too, but not a light and fluffy whipped... if that makes sense to you.
You could also try any recipe you find with Splenda, or any other low calorie sweetener.
Hope this works well for you and enjoy!!!!

I guess I need clarification. Do you want a frosting that is "sugar free" as in using artificial sweetner, or do you want a frosting that does not contain Processed Sugar? So natural sugars are ok (honey, Agave, Maple Syrup Etc)

Splenda has lots of recipes for no sugar frosting. I made their powder sugar glaze for my daughter's first. It was different tasting for me, but she did not know the difference since it was her first sweet experience. Have fun, J.

Use the sugar free Cool Whip. That is what I used for my son's 1st birthday cake.

I just used plain yogurt as frosting on my daughters first birthday cake.
