Seeking Nice Lodgings in Wisconsin Dells or Madeline Island

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge this winter and were impressed with the rooms and affordability. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath hotel room that also had a kitchen and it was a great deal. It was nice to be able to make a few meals so we didn't have to eat out every night. We enjoyed it there a lot and would go back. Hope this helps! Have fun!

I have stayed at the Seagull Bay Motel in Bayfield which overlooks Madeline Island. It was great - inexpensive and a beautiful view. They have houses you can rent too. http://www.seagullbay.com/

We have rented an on-site house at the Wilderness Resort in the winter, and it was really nice. On the resort property, but not connected to the main building. That would mean you would get park passes, but be able to have a stay that was separated if you wanted to. The houses are duplex style, so you can rent two and open the door between. Each house has 3 main bedrooms, plus a pull out couch. I think it would sleep 10-12. Not sure what summer rates are, but I would think if you are splitting it among families, it would be well worth it. www.wildernessresort.com

The Wilderness Lodge is really nice. They have big condos with several bedrooms you can rent, and great water parks for people of all ages.

We are planning an extended family vacation this year as well, and I'm hoping that we will go to the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells. We haven't gone there with our extended family, but have gone 3 times ourselves and love it! It is a great place for families to go. They have 7 or so waterparks that are only open to their guests, plus other fun things to do as well.
