Seeking New Primary Care Md Within 45 Min Salem NH Area

I want to find a primary care MD who listens to his/her patients. The last three I've had have been aweful. After much begging because of the amount of pain I'm in everyday I got the OK for Xrays. I now have advanced arthritis in the ankle and all I got for advice from him and the orthopedic is to try and lose weight (without putting weight on the ankle) and take advil when I need it, oh and maybe a cane. The reason the weight has creeped on is I'm can't walk after standing at work all day. And I was treated like it's my fault for my ankle (i'm overweight therefore I caused it). I'm not looking for a quick fix. I need an MD that will work with me to decrease my daily pain and allow me to sleep. I would like an MD that listens to his/her patients and remembers them- is it too much to ask now in healthcare??

What can I do next?

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your pain. I would recommend. Dr. Christine Hand. She is my family's doctor. She sees me, my husband and my 5 year old. She has a very nice bedside manor and she does listen and discuss things with you. She is located ot the Londonderry Family medical center. I don't know if she is taking patients right now but she is a good Dr. I hope you feel better!

I love love love my PCP! She's Elizabeth Chase at Briarwood Primary Care. She's in the Elliot Hospital system, and located in Manchester. Best of luck to you!

My husband and I both see Dr. Scott Lowe at Derry Medical clinic. We are both very picky about the Dr. we see and we both very much like him. He tells it like it is, BUT he listens to you. If you don't want meds he looks for other options. Great Dr.!!!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Conceta Oteri at Willowbend Family practice. I was dealing with some GI issues for quite a while, and it was brushed off as IBS. When I switched to her, she ran all kinds of tests and finally correctly diagnosed me. She makes follow up appointments to review any blood/lab work, I never feel rushed... she also tends to take a more holistic/naturopathic approach, which I like, but I know not everyone does. I've also seen on NP in the office who was great too. Good luck!!
