Seeking NEW Pediatrician - Lake Orion,MI

I have had nothing but the run around with Northeast Pediatrics out of Rochester Hills. My daughter has a double ear infection and was prescribed amoxicillian...I told the DR. that my husband is severly allergic and I was worried about her taking it. He said to watch for a rash if she gets one call me and I will prescribe something else. SO of course the rash breaks out after office hours and I call the on call number given by the office. I get a rude Dr. on the phone who tells me to skip the next dose and go and see the Dr. in the AM. I told him what the my DR. origianlly said about prescribing something else and he told me "rudely" that he cant diagnose over the phone. MIND YOU my daughter is in so much pain from the ear infection she was crying for over 40 min. from the pain in the evening totally inconsoulable. So I decide to skip the does which I did not want to do...so I call the Dr. in the am at 8:30 I get a nurse, I asked her to ask my Dr. if he can call in a prescription so that she can get meds right away...OH forgot to tell you this is our 15th day of my daughter being sick and has been to see this dr. three times already and he claimed it was a virus until the third visit he found the ear infection! SO I wait two hours no call back about meds. SO I call the nurse again and she tells me she has not been able to talk to the Dr. yet and that I should just make and appointment to come in! (sorry so long) I AM JUST MAD AS HELL now. Because my daughter is in a lot of pain and I just want some sort of Antibiotics so that she can be more cofortable...in the mean time she has been taking motrin for days!!! Long story short does ANYONE have a pediatrician that they trust and that is somewhat accesable for situations that come up like this that doesnt fall between the hours of 9-5???! I live in the Lake Orion area?!Thanks for listening:)

Hi J. my boys go to pediatric consultants of Troy. It is right in Troy Beaumont. I love it there because it's convenient and the doctors are very good. They have regular office hours from 8-5 and then from 5-8 they have an after hours clinic. (The clinic is open 7 days a week)which is the same doctors but on a walk in basis. They have Sat. hours also. I've always been able to get an apt. the same day and usually within an hour or two of whenever I called. They have a completely separate office on a different floor for well visits. That way your healthy child doesn't get exposed to whatever's going around when they're in for a check up. I've even been out of town and they called in a prescription for me because we were unable to come in (obviously, we were on vacation). I've called the after hours number a few times and have always been treated well and they answered all of my questions. One time she directed us to emergency room just to make sure everything was o.k.. hope this helps.

Try Mali & Mali Pediatrics throough Troy Beaumont. The # is ###-###-####. I have been taking my son there for 2 years now and they are awesome. There are 4 doctors in the practice and one the doctors is the chief of pediactrics at Troy Beaumont. They are also linked to the after hours clinic located in Troy Beaumont that is open from 6:30 - 10:00. I highly recommend them.

Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about this! We love SG pediatrics in lake orion. They are right on M24 in the beaumont building. The have VERY nice on call dr's who have called in prescriptions MANY

I take my five year old and almost 3 year old to Dr. Dickson. His phone number is ###-###-#### and he is located in Lake Orion right on m-24 in the Bald Mountain Regional Center. I have been taking my children there for over a year now and could not be happier. Everyone that I have dealt with in the office (doctors, nurses and receptionists) have been very caring and understanding. I fortunately have not had to use the after hours calling but I have always been able to get an appointment the day that one or both of my children are sick and the wait time has always been short. My mother takes her four children there as well and she is the one that referrred me to him. Good luck and I hope your little one feels better!

I also suggest Pediatric Consultants of Troy. They are wonderful! I have also heard great things about Dr. Moscovic. Im so sorry to hear your daughter has had such a rough time.

I live in Lake Orion also and drive to Premiere Pediatrics in Clarkston. They are literally right at the #91 exit from 75, have a team of four doctors, one of whom is always on call, and all four are fantastic. They all take care of my kids like they were their own and they will call me back personally if I call with a question instead of having a nurse call me back. They have a sick side and a well side for waiting rooms. I have never waited in their waiting rooms for longer than 10 minutes before being called back into a room, and once there, never more than 10 minutes for the doctor to come in. I would drive further to make sure they take care of my kids.

I have a really good pediatrician that I see in Rochester. Dr Ami Mavani and the office center is called Doctors for Kids. My son has had a number of ear infections in his first year and she has been great (he's 17 months now). She is thorough and takes in all of the family history and repetitive issues. We were refered to an ENT doc early to get tubes put in his ears to prevent getting an ear infection everytime he had a runny nose and things have been great. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Mavani. Oh and she typically prescribes an ear drop fluid for ear infections that relieves the pain for the little tykes really quickly. I prefer that to giving pain meds to the babies. Hope you find someone you feel comfortable with.

We take our 2 month old son to Molly O'Shea right next to Somerset Mall. She has been excellent and is very easy to get into touch with through email (I have never tried calling her). She is alone in her practice and last I heard was filling up quickly and might begin to cap her practice (not sure if that is actually happening though). Here is her website: http://birminghampediatrics.com/ Good luck, I can totally understand your frustration!
