Seeking New Pediatrician - Plano,TX

My children are in need of a new Pediatrician. Every single time they go to their current doctor they get sick. (Not exaggerating.) One of my son's has respiratory symptoms all of the time. Allergies? Bronchiolitis? Viris? They never seem to know. (which I partly understand.) He doesn't have an ear infection so they send him home and tell us to do breathing treatments, two days later he does have one. They put him on antibiotics that don't work. A couple weeks later different antibiotics, a few weeks later a different round with an ear infection in the other ear. Then he has to have Rocefin. (The antibiotic shots in the butt that hurt like he--. Three days in a row. Quite traumatic for a 4 year old. This week I took him in for pink eye on Monday. No other symptoms. Now he's sick as a dog. With the same barky cough that he always gets except now he's got an intermittant fever as well. I asked the Dr. while I was there what kind of cough medicine would be best for him. He tells me one with an expectorant. (Guiafed) On the package it says do not take if you have a chronic cough or asthma symptoms. Both of which my son has. My doctor seems to forget which type of cough my son gets. He NEVER has a productive cough. I am the same way. Prone to bronchitis. I know exactly how my son feels and I'd really like to find someone who can treat him. I'd also like to find someone who can keep thier office clean and someone who has kids of their own. (We live at the Plano/Allen border)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I LOVE my pediatrician. She is with pediatric healthcare assoc. in McKinney. The doctor we see is Dr. Virginia Menchaca, I have seen others in the practice and everyone is fantastic. They take the time to really listen to what is going on and you never feel rushed. It's is always a plesant experience and the offices are clean.

Dr Pete Stellman on Main Street in the Colony is great. My son had RSV & is on breathing treatments 2 years later. When he was not comfortable my sone was getting better he will refer to specialist. They are all associate w/Childrens which is what you should look for in Pedi. Also Dr.'s in the office will call you back personally if you need them. Good Luck.

I send my daughters to Dr. Kasmiersky at Frisco Medical on Warren. We can always get right in and we like everybody there. Now, Dr. Kasmiersky is a family doctor but she has been great with our family.

Hi C.,

I highly recommend Dr. Nail at Centennial Pediatrics in Frisco at 121 and Coit Rd. Any doctor in that office will be wonderful!

You might want to consider taking your son to see an allergy/asthma specialist, as well as a pedi EENT. -JM

Since you are in plano you may want to try Raintree Pedriatics,in Allen both doctors Dr. Smith and Dr Cook are great. They listen to what you have to say. Im sure they could help you out in your situation.
