Seeking New Pediatric Eye Dr.
Hi!
We have been seeing my daughters current Eye Dr since she was about 9 months old! She has a lazy eye and we have been trying to correct it since she was about 1, well he said that it was her vision causing this and not a muscle. I wanted to do surgery last summer and he said not to, so anyways we go and see him today and he said that it is a muscle now and she does need the surgery. My question is does anyone reccomend a eye dr in plano, or dallas area? WE Live in wylie but we go all the way to almost frisco now so that is not a problem.
Thanks!

Do you have a college near you?
We have had our best luck with the pediatric ophthamologist at DUke, I know, too far for you but check out your good colleges. I know Texas has them.

We see Dr. Stager Sr. you can see him in Plano or Dallas (Preston and Northwest Hwy.). My daughter also has a lazy eye and has seen him since she was a year old (now 16 yrs). We were able to correct her problem without surgery but it was an option for us. Keep in mind that sometimes the surgeries may not hold and may need to be repeated whether in a year or 10 years.

My daughter was diagnosed with lazy eye last November and I did a lot of research on ophthalmologists. I found that a lot of people recommend the doctors at Pediatric Ophthalmology (www.popacas.com). We chose Dr. Stager, Jr. and he has been wonderful. He predicts our questions and always puts our fears at ease.
My daughter had surgery on both eyes in January and is doing wonderfully now.

We also used Dr. Stager Jr. Neither of mine needed surgery but he was great with the kids, crying and all.....never got conflicting info.

Hi L., so funny that you ask this question today as we just got home from our little girls Eye Dr. and we really like him. She is 7 and we have used her since she was 3 years old. His name is Dr. Stager ###-###-#### and he is located at 3900 W 15th #406 in Plano, Tx. We live in McKinney so it is a little of a drive for us too,but well worth it. Good luck, I know it can be frustrating. If you have anymore questions just let me know.

When we moved here from Midland, TX 15 yrs ago we were referred to Dr. David Stager, Sr. in Dallas. We've been seeing him ever since for my son with Down Syndrome. He's very busy so you may need to wait for an appt. I think his son David, Jr. is also does pediatric opthomology. Hope that helps.
