Seeking New OB/GYN Associated with Central Dupage Hospital

Hi Moms. I am looking for suggestions for a new ob/gyn associated with Central Dupage Hospital. I am currently a patient of an ob/gyn at the Dupage Medical Group. While I personally like my doctor, I have been less than impressed with the Dupage Medical Group practices. I recently suffered a miscarriage at 10 weeks and was basically told it's "no big deal"...not what I was looking for. I am looking for a doctor who is more proactive. I have been told that until I have 3 miscarriages, they will not do any testing. I am having a hard time accepting that there isn't a doctor out there who would do some of the basic testing before we put ourselves in a position of having another miscarriage. If you have a ob/gyn who you really like and who is "personal" with you, I would love suggestions! Please no Dupage Medical Group doctors...it's not my doctor I am leaving, it's the nurses who answer the phones. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Thank you everyone for all your help. We met with Dr. Binette and LOVE him! I have seen him a few times since and every visit has been friendly and helpful. We couldn't be happier. Thank you for taking the time to help me out...I really appreciate all the advice and kind words!

I go to Female Health Care Associates in Bloomingdale.
I have seen most of the Drs there, but I really like
Dr. Lori Hardy and Dr. Wickmen. I had issues getting pregnant then ended up with gestational diabetes. So I did see them alot.
Dr. Hardy is in her mid 30's. I had several issues about delivering so she would talk to me like I was her friend not Dr to patient. Dr. Wickmen is older, kind of a mother figure.
I really liked the nurses. I did call with a ton of questions and they were all nice.

I can say that I didn't care for Dr. Swedo.
I don't care for male Drs but Dr. Binette and Dr. Morrison were very nice. Just not my thing. I have been told they are also good Drs.

They all deliver out of Central Dupage Hospital. They have offices in Bloomingdale,Naperville, Elk Grove, and Arlington Hts.

Good luck to you.

I am so sorry that you had such a hard time with the nurses. I love my Dr's through DMG (Chang and Johnson), but too have had a less that good experience with the receptionist and nurses. I have heard a few people that like Lynn Fesenmyer (she is out of Winfield, Geneva...

I have been very happy with Female Health Care and Associates, they are in Naperville, Bloomingdale and Elk Grove Village, I believe. I see Dr. Binette, he is wonderful. My sister has been going to them for over 15 years, and she referred me. The Bloomingdale office number is ###-###-####, they whole staff there is wonderful. My sister had issue with miscarriages and other issues and was so happy with all the staff. If you need to call one of the receptionists name is Jamie, she is so nice, if you tell her A. Murray referred you, she will help you, and if she is not there someone will. I only know Jamie really well or I would give you others name. They are out of Central DuPage. I really hope you give them a try, I think you will be so happy.I hope I didn't ramble on to much.

First of all I am sorry for your loss it is difficult and always a big deal. I have had good luck with Dupage Ob/Gyn. They have several sites, but the main one is located in Winfield I believe (I use the Geneva office). They are accociated with CDH and Delnor. There are several doctors in the group. I see Dr. Larry. I suffered a miscarrige at 12 weeks and everyone was wonderful and supportive. They also were great support through out my first pregnancy/delivery. The main number is ###-###-####

A friend of mine used the group at the Glen Ellyn Clinic and loved them. You might try them.

I am sorry for your loss. But I do have to say that there is no need for tests after one miscarriage. 1 out of 4 pregnancies result in a miscarriage. It is nature's way of ensuring healthy babies. I know how difficult it can be (I lost my first pregnancy), but having a miscarriage is very common, and the worse thing you can do is stress yourself with worry about it happening again. Chances are, you will go on to have a very successful pregnancy. So please, please try to put thoughts of miscarriage out of you head --until you have had 3 and there is a real indication there might be a problem.

Hi B.,
I have been with Female Healthcare Associates for many years. Dr. Wickman is who I would recommend, but I'm not sure if she is still practicing there. Otherwise Dr. Szwedo, who was also there for the birth of my son. Their office is at Raymond and Ogden in Naperville.

B.,
I know how hard it is to find a good doctor. I love my OB/Gyn whose office is in Carol Stream and delivered my 2 kids with him at CDH. He is the only doctor at his own practice and I love nurse Debbi!

I would suggest DuPage Obstetrics and Gynecology. They have wonderful and caring doctors. There are several I would highly recommend, but their newest "doctor" is a Physician Assistant and I believe she is the best of all of them. Her name is Gretta. She is very thorough and very caring. I have actually started seeing her now instead of the doctor that I have been seeing there for the last 14 years. Their number is ###-###-####. I'd be happy to give you further info you would like it.
