Seeking New OB/GYN
I was wondering if anyone out there would recommend a good OB/GYN? I have been with mine for almost 10 years, but as their practice grows, I feel more like a number than an actual person. I live in the Elgin area and don't want to have to travel too far for appointments. Thanks! ~ M.

Suburban Women's Health Specialists in Elgin are fantastic. I think someone below also recommended them. There phone number is ###-###-####. I used the midwife Kathy for my delivery of my son and it was such a wonderful experience. I saw Dr Michael through most of my daughters pregnancy, and he is a great doctor. I've gone there for over 10 years, and have always been happy. Good luck!!

Well, guess I'll have to second (or third) Suburban Women's Health. I've seen both doctors and midwives, and they do a great job of putting you at ease. My doctor is Dr. Epstein, though I would gladly see any of the others. Dr. Michael delivered my baby, and Dr. Epstein took me in an emergency situation while he was visiting the office on his vacation time. The midwives and nurses have been great, especially with showing kindness and concern after miscarriages. I do find there's often a bit of a wait both in the waiting room and inside the office. I highly recommend them, but you know, I wouldn't want too many more people going there; they were my doctors first. :)
Oh, and if you prefer women doctors, friends of mine use Barrington Women's Health (they have an Algonquin office) and speak of them very highly.

Suburban Women's Health Specialists are fantastic!!!! They have 2 office locations .... one in Algonquin and one in Elgin off of Royal Blvd behind the Wal Mart. They have 2 doctors and 2 midwives. The office staff is friendly and I have never felt rushed during any of my appointments with any of the doctors or midwives. I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room (usually less than 5 minutes). Check out their website:
I hope that this helps!!!
