Seeking Moms with High Risk Pregnancy

Just this last April I found out I was pregnant after being told I couldn’t have anymore children. I am five months pregnant and had my second trimester sonogram, and it turns out that the baby (Seth) has a cyst on his stomach. I am very scared at the time because I was also diagnosed with type two diabetes. It is very hard to find out something could be wrong.

What can I do next?

Hi G..I am also a ,other of three.I just gave birth to my third child a month ago.Having a third c-section was really somthing i did not want to go through but i did any way and I got alot of support during my recovery so much so that it made me realize that there many other women going through similar situations.I know yours is different but I know a little help would not be bad for you and i would like to avail myself in whichever way I can.Its not easy to always have to pay someone to help you.please write to me and lets see what we can work out.

Are you seeing a high risk doctor? Type 2 diabetes is manageable during pregnancy. Sometimes a change in diet works sometimes you need insulin. My last two pregnancies were insulin dependant. As for the cyst I have no answers. What are your doctors saying? Good Luck!

Hi G.,
I can imagine you are very stressed and worried!
I worked for years on the high risk pregnancys ward and it is hard to say anything about the cyst based on what you write. basicly can be said that cysts are not a lifethreat. It is important that you tell your doctor your worries and you can ask him everything about it!! My advise to patient always was write every little question that pops in your mind in a notebook and bring it with you every time you visit the doc. even if you feel the need to see the doc more frequent just request that. It is important that you feel comfartable and save about this pregnancy and this precious babyboy! That is your right! surfing on internet can drive you crazy because every situation is unique so if you do so keep that in mind and try to look for general info so you can ask direct questions. For the diabetes it counts the same. To me DB is of higher risk then the cyst BUT there is one big differnce: you have influence on that yourself. keep a good diet (helps in 80% of the DB-PG)if you dont know how ask help of a nutritionist. If you have more questions you are always welcome to ask!
I wish you al the best, stay strong and have faith.

first of all congratulations on your pregnancy! I have no clue on the diabetes but as far as the cyst goes my sister had the same thing happen to her. they told her they found a cyst on the babys head but that it would probably go away and that sometimes it could be normal and its just the baby growing and it will resolve itself but to go for close monitoring just in case. well the cyst did go away and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. i would wait a little while and go for a follow up it could resolve itself. try not to waste a good worry just yet! maybe you should calll a high risk doctor just for some comfort. I hope everything works out for you!
Good luck!
