I am trying to find other moms with autistic children. My 3yr old daughter was recently diagnosed with mild autism. I just need someone to chat with and who can explain a little more what this means for my child and us (her parents).

My 6 yr old daughter was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at almost 3.5yrs of age and four months later they added disruptive behaviour disorder. She is very verbal and intelligent and we anticipate her dx will change to Asperger's in the next couple of years. I'm in the Monroeville, PA area and would gladly help in any way I can. my son is 3 1/2 yrs old and was diagnosed with PDD. PDD or pervasive developmental disorder is a behavioral disorder of speech, communication, social interaction, and repetitive type compulsive behavior. Autism is a form of PDD.

Now that you have a diagnosis it means you can focus on making sure she gets the best therapy to meet her developmental needs. That's how I see it with my child :) My son currently goes to special needs preschool(EI preschool) and receives all his therapy there with children who have different developmental needs.
