Our son needs a hair cut but I haven't found a barber that can handle a 2 year old.

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

There is a place in Macomb Mall designed just to handle children. They have carousel horses for them to sit on, games, etc. The whole place looks like a circus (minus the scary clowns). I believe it's called Carousel Cuts (or something like that, call the main number for the mall). I have seen them in a few other malls, so since it's a chain there may be one closer to Westland.

Try Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in Canton, on Cherry Hill Road. They play a movie for them and the place is designed just for kids. The chairs are made for kids, they even have a Lightning McQueen car chair. My 4 year old refused to get a professional haircut for over a year and I took her there and she loves the place and got her hair cut the first time we were there. This is their website http://www.haircutsarefun.com/ Good luck!

Have you tried Carnival Cuts? This makes getting a hair cut a fun experience. Check them out online. You can download a coupon also. There is one at 12 Oaks but not sure of any others. Good luck!

Hi,

There is a new place that is very kid friendly. It's called Cookie Cutters and it's on Cherry Hill Road and Sheldon in Canton. They have a website too. Also, some of the malls have a haircut place for kids called Carnival Cuts which specializes in kids cuts. I hope this helps you.

Hi M.,
My son is two and we take him to Great Clips. I want to say it's like $9.99 or something like that. They also have 'sales' where it's $5.99 or something like that. We go to the one thats right next to Party City on Warren Rd, almost across from Davids Bridal if you know that area (just west of Central City Pkwy). We've been taking my son there since his first haircut. They'll also give him a sucker while his hair is getting cut. It's a little gross/sticky but it keeps him sitting still for a minute while he's getting it cut. THey're great there, I really recommend it!
