Seeking Moms' Group in Brighton Area
Hi, I am new to the area, having just moved from Michigan to Brighton CO, and I am looking to find some Moms' groups to get involved in. I have an 11 week old son, and am adjusting to being home for the first time and not having friends or family around. My son was born 2 days after we moved here, 1 day after we closed on our house, and 1 day before the moving trucks came! He was 7 weeks early and spent 41 days in the NICU. Now that he is home and doing so well, I am looking for ways to get out and meet some other Moms. So if anyone has any ideas or groups that they would be willing to pass on, that would be great.

You can look up MOMS Club International on the web and see if there's a chapter in your city. I live in Thornton (north - quite close to Brighton) and belong to a great MOMS Club. It includes Thornton and Northglenn, but I am not sure about Brighton. It is really inexpensive (only $25/year for a full membership) and gives you access to age-appropriated playgroups and planned activities (including a monthly Moms Night Out) plus lots of support from area moms.
Here's the Brighton chapter's address: http://momsclubofbrighton.bravehost.com/index.html

A.,
I was in your shoes about two years ago. I joined Gymboree play/music in Northglenn (www.gymboreeclasses.com ) Its nice because you will meet moms while your son plays. Also try www.mops.org. Its moms with preschool group at some of the local churches. I have a good friend in Las Vegas and Indian who have joined these groups and absolutely love them. We are kinda in limbo right now due to potty training. So we haven't been able to attend any of our classes.

Go to MOPS website or MomsClub website. They will give you a list of the moms groups in your areas, they both are good groups. Also check with you local churches.

Hi A.,
Try meetup.com. You can search tons of groups with every interest you can think of, including lots of moms groups and playgroups. I belong to one in the Thornton/Brighton area. It's called The Moms' Playgroup and the website is: http://sahm.meetup.com/2122/
You have to register to be a member of meetup but it's quick and worthwile. Give us a try!

Hello A.,
Check out the link above. If you are not familiar with MOPS (Mother's of Preschooler), it's a lot of fun. Whether you are a Christian or not, it's just a time for women to get together, listen to speakers, do crafts, and just enjoy each other. I think that we have the best MOPS group in the Denver area! Check it out!
