Seeking Mom's Groups in the Vandalia or General Dayton Area

If you don't want to travel South we have a lot of things more North of Vandalia also. There are many organized things to get involved with but there is a ton of women who do small play groups all the time. Anyone with small children who stay home know how important it is to interact with other women going through the same kind of situations. Our motto is the more the merrier....

My name is J. Welch. I am in the Dayton area, actually in the off base miltary housing in Riverside. I don't have an infant but a toddler 2 yrs old, not to mention an 11 yr old as well. I am trying to find a playgroup/mom's group myself. I have a neighbor/friend involved in some groups (she has a 4 yr old girl and a newborn baby boy) so I will pass your name onto her as well as my interest in joining. It is hard to be home all day with babies and not crave adult conversation/companionship. If I hear of any good groups I will let you know. Until then it is just me, so if you ever want to email, talk, go out shopping or just get together let me know.

I live in the Clayton/Englewood area now, but I grew up in Vandalia. I'm also looking for some mom/baby groups. Someone told me about 2 that are around the North Dayton area. She is getting info for me. I'll let you know what I find out.

Hi S.! I'm the friend Jenn W mentioned! I am part of a few mom's groups...I go to La Leche League meetings (there are many in the area--I go to the Beavercreek one on the 1st Wed of the month and the East Dayton one on the 2nd Tues of the month) which is a breastfeeding support group. I also go to Dar A Luz meetings--they are the first Tues of the month--and they are about empowering women in the aspect of birth etc. I went there for a year before I got pregnant--I was NOT going to have a 'hell birth' like my 1st born! I was very empowered by their stories and support. I went on to have a WONDERFUL birth (with Jenn Ws help!) 3mo ago!! Anyways--I still go to the meetings to support other women.
In both meetings kids are always welcome--no matter what the age--and are actually encouraged to come!
Like Jenn W said--if you ever wanna get together for a small/not organized playgroup, we could make that happen! :)
