It looks like my husband, son, and I will be moving to San Antonio--likely to reside in the Canyon Springs/Champions/Big Springs area. I'm looking for an MDO program in the area that you have enrolled your child in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I live in the same area you are looking to move - we LOVE it! There are many churches in the area that have a MDO program ... it is good that you are looking early, because a lot of them fill up quickly.

Our daughter went to Concoria Ltheran Churches MDO, it is called Tiny Tots - they are great. You can get more info. on that at their website http://children.concordialutheranchurch.com/tinytots.php

Another close church that I have heard has a great program is Community Bible Church - their website is http://www.communitybible.com/ or you can call them to get more info.

The other one I was thinking of that no one else has mentioned is Harvest Fellowship - their website is http://www.harvestfellowship.org/ or again, call them for more info.

There are a LOT of churches in our area - in fact they call 1606 (a main road by this location) The Bible Belt - b/c there are so many churches off of 1604.

Hope this helps - feel free to contact me if you want any more info on this area - we just love it!!!

My kids go to Cornerstone Church--it's in Stone Oak. My kids LOVE IT!! They have been going for a year. They go T/Th 8:30-4:00 and it is ALL YEAR--no summer break! Thye have a curriculum--letters, numbers, singing, craft, bible story, ten commandments, weather, seasons. My daughter is 2 and knows her ABCs. Also, the teachers really love the kids--they interact with them. And it's really affordable, for my two kids I pay $260/month.

On a side note, I attend MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Shearer Hills Baptist church every 2nd and 4th Monday. You don't have to go to church there to attend--I don't. Childcare is provided free of charge. We would love to have you and you can meet some Moms. Here's our website: http://shbc-mops.org Good luck with your search and welcome to San Antonio.

Another option is Castle Hills First Baptist-they also have a MOPS program as well-the second and fourth Tues of the month.

Coker is nice b/c they go all the way to Kinder, providing continuity for your LO. It's a well established program.

We also live in the Stone Oak area and just moved here a year ago. Our 3 year old daughter goes to Community Bible Church MDO twice a week. She also went last year. We absolutely love it and the staff is wonderful. The teachers are so attentive and really get to know your child. My daugther does not like being away from home and she loves it there. Plus, they are accredited and have a great curriculum.

Hope that helps!

Welocme to San Antonio! We live in Canyon Springs and are really enjoying it. We send our 4 year old to Rainbow Station in Stone Oak. It is a wonderful program, and the only NAEYC accredited program in the Stone Oak area. Open enrollment is usually in May for the upcoming year. They have a great curriculum and even have a parents' night out about once per month.

lifehouse church Kids Day Out and preschool on Wilderness Oak is right next to Wilderness Oak Elementary and the new library. It is the best around. They offer 2, 3 and 4 days and the program is amazing! We have sent all of our kids through the program and I would not go any where else!

Community BIble Church has both a Church MOPS program and a DAY School for 2-3 day (9-2) schedules. We do both- she is nearly three. If you are unfamiliar with Mops it is a twice a month - we have 1st and 3rd and 2nd and 4th week meetings- plus a nighttime one as well. Usually we have breakfast at meetings from 9-12Noon and also plan Mom's DAy outs and play dtes monthly as well. CBC has a lot of ministries to families and young Moms, please look us up and try it out when you get here. You can even watch some of the sermons online before you even think about moving. WE are going over a book in MOPs-"When did my life become a game of Twister?"- great stuff - even talking about Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover financial budgeting plan this year! Feel free to join us!
