Check St. Thomas, Cardinal Gibbons, Pine Crest, Westminster Academy, North Broward Prep., Archbishop Mc.Carthy, Sagemont and American Heritage. Talk to parents regarding academics, safety, discipline, transportation, sports, clubs, and believe it or not guidance regarding colleges and universities. The school where my two children go offers trips in the summer for them to check the colleges. Most importantly, you have to check that your family values and principles go along to those of the school. There is not such thing as the best school, but all the schools I have metioned have good programs and it is worth to pay them a visit. Good luck!!!

I teach at a very small private school in Plantation called the Blake School. I have been there for 9 years and the school has been there for 40 years. It is very small and family-like and is for children pre-k thru 8th grades. I teach Spanish and the children also get music, PE, art and computers several times a week. The phone number is ###-###-#### if you are interested in getting more info or coming to look at it.

depends on age of children and what type of school you're looking for...

For pre-school - you can't beat NSU's Mailman Segal Institute at the Family Center. Goes from infant - to PreK4. My son is there now and it's just wonderful.

For elementary / jr high - you also have at NSU (Nova Southeastern University) University Lower Schools. Great reputations and centrally located.

Many people consider American Heritage and Pinecrest the top tier(considered most elite and most expensive)

There are also many great parochial (sp?) schools - my child will hopefully go to St. Gregory Catholic next year which goes up to grade 8. The high schools to feed in would be St. Thomas Aquinas or Mc Carthy - both great reputations.

There are also quite a few Montesorri schools.

Anyway - hope that helps a little.

You can get a list by searching Broward county private schools online. My nieces attended Archbishop McCarthy Highschool. I also know some who have sent their kids to Pinecrest. The best thing for you to do is research the different schools online to find one that is right for your son and then schedule appts. to see the schools before choosing one.
