Seeking Information on Schools
Hi,
Has anyone heard of the school Horizon school? Does anyone have an opinion on it? Please share. Also, does anyone have suggestions on a great preschool. I am not looking for a daycare preschool, just a preschool. I've heard the Summit is good but it's $1000 a month. I want a really good preschool but a little less expensive. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I got recomendations for gods garden, the village of awatukee, church of christ (on 32nd and chandler) and awatukee preschool on 48th and elliot. All a lot less than horizon...by babysitter goes there, but it's a tough comparison to the 3 year old! Good luck.

You should try Amy's Happy Daze day care and preschool. Awesome! and a reasonable price. You can take your child and observe, meet her and the other children etc. and see what you think. She is in the villages in Queen Creek

My daughter (2.5 years) goes to The Awakening Seed (40th Street and Baseline). She adores it. She has blossomed in that environment. They go from toddler to 5th grade.
I've heard Horizon is a good charter alternative to public school if private school isn't possible.
Good luck, I know that this decision means so much to our children and our peace of mind.

Hi there! I'm sending my 3 yr old to Milenio's preschool program! It is absolutly wonderful they have mixed classes with half typical and half special needs children. They have 3 teachers in the room so they get a fantastic learning experience and they go 4 days a week for 2 1/2 hours go to the kyrene website for more info! Good Luck!

I'm not sure where you are locatted, by my children go to Imagine Charter School West Gilbert, located on Gilbert Road between Chandler and Ray. They have full day pre-school and kindergarten. There is no charge once they get into kindergarten, but preschool is only $550 per month, which includes their lunch and snacks, and they have a class for both four year olds and three year olds. This cost is for the regular school day hours (8:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m., I think), but if you need to, they do also offer before and after school childcare services on site if you need to drop off early or have them stay later. There is an additional charge for that service.
We have been happy with this school. We also have a 5th grader there and plan on sending our 3 year old next year to their preschool program, as well as our soon-to-be-born child once the time comes.
Prior to attending Imagine West Gilbert, my children attended Horizon Community Learning Center, which is a charter achool by I-10 and Chandler Blvd. I am not sure if that is the school you were referring to. If you were, they are an excellent school, but the drive was excessive for us and they only offered half-day preschool and kindergarten, meaning that I had to go back and forth three times a day, once to drop off the older kids, once to drop off my preschooler, and again to pick them all up. It was crazy! That's why it was such a relief to find a full-day preschool and kindergarten with Imagin West Gilbert, and they were right around the corner from us, too.
I am not sure if this is a concern for you, but I did not realize how hard that constant driving would be until I experienced it and had to change schools. I also realized that I would have to do that for four years in a row, one year for preschool with my fourth, the next year for kindergarten for my fourth, the next year for preschool for my fifth, and the next year for kindergarten for my fifth. Then I would have to do it again in a couple of years for my sixth. Yikes! With more than one child, starting the preschool/kindergarten so close together, you may want to consider that, too, as you are looking for a school for them.
I hope this information helps you, and I wish you the best! :)

Horizon goes from prek-12th. I have heard this is a really good school. My daughter just started the Horizon High School this year and seems to love it. She says the teachers really
care.
You can call and have a tour and check out their website www.horizonclc.org
Take care,
K.
