Seeking Information About Double Stroller
I am in the market for a double stroller for my 1 year old and 3 1/2 year old. I prefer not to spend a lot of money (under $200). We do a lot of walking, but mostly in malls or on sidewalks. Any advice?

I live in Bloomfield Hills and have a double front to back, not side to side stroller that you are welcome to have for free. It's in fairly good condition. Not brand new but about 5 years old. Email me back if you are interested.

Have you thought about a sit and stand (i think that is the name) You older can ride behind standing up or sitting facing you, and the young one rides in front like a stroller. At onestepahead.com, they have an attachment that fits on your current stroller for the older ride to sit/stand, behind. I got a used double, Graco stroller, and really like it. (I thought it would be too heavy and not good on dirt/grass, but it works out great, fits between clothing isles at the mall much better than my 3 wheeler one.

Holly,
You might want to check out a second hand store (Second time around, Once upon a child) are a few in my home town area.
Also a wagon might be an Idea for you, i know Little Tikes makes nice ones as well as Radio Flyer.
Best wishes in your search,
D.

HI H.,
Try a re-sale shop for children's clothing and such. The prices are great and almost everything comes apart to go into the washing machine now a days.

You can probably get a nice used one from a Mom-to-Mom sale. I have the Graco Quatro duo and I just loved it when my kids were younger. I am actually interested in selling mine so if you are interested let me know. It has been used ALOT so it's not brand new if you are looking for that. Also if you are not interested in my stroller I have heard from some friends that they really like their sit-n-stand stroller and I just saw them at the Flower Factory for under a $100 so if you or someone you know has a membership there it's a great deal. If you want more info on my stroller, feel free to email me and I can give you more info. Take care.

Hi H.!
I would highly recommend the joovy caboose ultralight - it's a little more than you want to spend (I think around $230) but it is awesome!! My husband and I purchased it just a little while ago for our almost 18 month old and almost 3 year old and we love it! It is a sit n' stand which is great for our oldest because he can stand up when he's feeling energized and wants to see everything while also being able to sit if he's tired and just needs a little rest while we're out shopping or on our way back home from the park. We previously had an Eddie Bauer double and it was an absolute bear for me to push - always pulled to one side. The joovy is honestly smooth as butter for me to push now - worth every penny! Hope this helps in your decision!

I have a Sit N' Stand and really like it. My older child has the freedom of sitting or standing as she chooses, which she likes (and I have the option of strapping her down if she tries to escape too often). The stroller fits okay in stores and on sidewalks; I think it's better in that aspect than the double side-by-side strollers. Baby Trend and One Step Ahead both offer my style of stroller - I recommend that you check one out!

Once you get responses about what kind of stroller, you might also want to check www.craigslist.com - it is a free classified online ads divided into areas. I have found many good deals there at reasonable prices.

I just got a Combi side by side double stroller for my almost 2 year old and 4 month old (it came this week, yeah!), and I love it. It's the Twin Sport version. It was $197 & Free shipping (I got mine from barebabies.com), no assembly required. And it's 21 lbs I think, so not terribly heavy to lift in and out of the car.

Good luck!

Graco's Quattro Tour Duo. I got it and love it. My neighbor just had a 2nd baby too and not knowing that I had it also chose it and just loves it. When folded it's not too much bigger than a single stroller and it handles really nice. It turns great, which is a plus for mall shopping and the 'airplane' handle bars makes it easier for my husband to push.
Here it is on Graco's site - I purchased mine at Babies 'R Us. I think it was about $200. (I had a coupon from BRU that I used to knock it down a bit.)

H.,
Check your classifieds, resale shops, Craigslist.com, ebay for that matter, Salvation Army stores. Watch for classifieds under the garage sales, etc and see if any specifically say "mom to mom" sales or something to that order that would imply baby items etc.
Best of luck. I had one, but I brought it from overseas where they're really very common.
