Seeking Info on In-home Childcare and Nannies

My husband and I currently expecting twins (2 girls) and we are researching our options in regards to child care. I have looked at some daycares and I am trying to find out how much in-home day care and or a nanny would cost us. I live in McKinney and am looking for something to start around December 1. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking? Has anyone used a nanny in this area and have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I am a stay home mom with a 2 1/2 year old precious little girl. I am looking to watch only 1 or 2 children. For infants I would charge 135. I am an experienced mom. I have done fostercare and adopted my now 14 year old daughter. I did childcare when my now 19 year old was little. I worked for the school district in California for 6 years before moving here last year. I would love the chance to speek to you. My number is ###-###-####

Hi K.,

I live in McKinney and have an in-home day care. I don't know what my availability will be around the time you will need childcare to start, but if you are interested please stay in contact with me. I have worked with children for many years from age 0-12 yrs old. I have a 2 yr old daughter. I have worked in a day care center and will never go back. My daughter and I were sick all the time. She had ear infections fro 3 months. We just couldn't get away from the germs. I finally brought her home and her ears cleared up. That's when I decided to start taking care of children in my home. We just moved into our new home and now the children have a big playroom to move around and have fun. I am CPR and first aid certified and am listed with the state to provide in-home care. I do have an opening for full or part time care starting now, so if you know of anyone in your neighborhood that might need care now, please pass this along. We can see if I will have anything come available for your little girls later in the year. I never know if people will move or change job location. You can contact me at ###-###-####

Thanks,
M.

K.,

It has been my experience that in-home charges between $135-200 per week per infant. Nannies have charged about $300 or so per week (probably your cheaper option). You could always use this website to search in home and centers - great information and you can search based on your zipcode.

Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Hi K.,
I don`t live in McKinney, but I can give you some info about home childcare cost. You can probably ask for a sibling discount and the weekly fee should be around $250-300. A nanny should cost $300-400/week without house cleaning. Good luck in your search.
