My daughter was born on Halloween and she does not like the costumes at all. She really does not like the trick or treating either. Could someone give me some ideas as to what I should do for her birthday?

Thank you

Have an un-Halloween party! No costumes allowed! Since Halloween is on Friday this year, I suggest having her party the next day. Do whatever she likes - tea party, princess party, Curious George, old fashioned one with musical chairs, etc - let her help decide. For my oldest daughter's 5th, we just rented a space in the park, brought food and a cake, and let the kids play in the playground. It was great! Good luck to you and happy birthday to your daughter!

Have a party after Halloween is over. Then you can do any theme she wants any where she wants.

My son was born a few days before Christmas, so I know what a pain it can be competing with a holiday. Since most of her friends will be otherwise busy that evening, and since she doesn't care for the Halloween routine anyway, have you considered celebrating her birthday a week or two early? Then you could just have a regular old birthday party, free from the Halloween connotation. You could still have a small cake and your present to her on her actual birthday. Just an idea...

Hi D., i also have a daughter who was born on halloween & she never liked the idea of dressing up or anything that had to do with halloween. She will turn 23 this month & still feels the same as she did when she was a toddler.we always did other themes for her birthday it worked out fine, anything we did was fine with her as long as it wasnt halloween themed ..good luck & have fun

Have a party for her that's not on Halloween and use whatever theme that interests her. Princess parties, tea parties, backwards parties, the possibilities are endless.

You could do things in fives. Have five games. Donute eating from strings is always loved, balloon pop, bobbing for apple.... They could decorate cup cakes. Have Five different icings & and five different toppings to choose from. She would like the big deal about five. Have fun!

My son's birthday is on the 24th, and everyone always expects a Halloween themed birthday party. It's kind of like when kids are born on Christmas that they only get one present because it's a birthday/Christmas present. What a bummer for those kids.

Just throw her a birthday party with a theme that she likes. Go with her lead. If she wants a princess party and dress up, give her that. If she wants a princess party, but only wants the decorations, cake and pinata to be princesses but she just wants to wear a pretty dress, do that. Ask her what she likes, offer her your ideas, and work together on planning it. I'm sure she'd love working together with you and be responsible in creating her own fun party!
