Seeking Ideas of What to Put Under Dresses to Hide Underwear

My four year old is very active. I need some ideas of what to put under her dresses to cover her underwear. When she was younger most dresses came with little coveralls to put over undies and diapers. I sometimes use those, but was wondering if anyone had a better idea. She is not a big fan of stockings and I want her to just be comfortable. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

How about little cotton bike shorts, if you cannot find in her size, you can get the stretch pant/capris at Wal Mart and cut/hem.

Bike shorts. They fit close, so they won't be bulky and uncomfortable. Gymboree sells them. My 3rd grade daughter has been wearing them for years!

Hi,

My niece always wears little cotton exercise shorts under her skirts and dresses. You can always get skorts, too.

Like the other ladies I will put bicycle type shorts when my daughter wears a dress. You could find them just about anywhere. Target, Walmart very inexpensive and they come in various colors so you could match them with her dress. Or if you are taking her to a place where she will be climbing and tumbling maybe it would be better to put her in pants. I usually just put dresses on my daughter when we go to church or a nice dinner party.

Bike shorts are seasonal and can be hard to find sometimes in addition to Gymboree and Target try Hanna Anderson and Lands' End also dance stores. And yes someday we moms need to warn our daughters about "upskirting" my oldest is 11 and I think I'll wait a few more years - it's just too weird.

Shorts!

Also, by the time my daughter was this age, from about 3 years old... I ALWAYS taught my girl about being careful about showing her 'privates/panties' when she sat down, or played, sat down criss-crossed, or what not. I simply explained that a girl has to be careful about this because some grown ups like to look. And its PRIVATE. My girl, understands.

My daughter is now 6 years old, and she likes to wear 'skorts.' They come in all sizes, either from GAP, or Gymboree. So this is a GOOD useful thing. It's a skirt, with an attached 'shorts' underneath and it covers the panties. It's totally comfortable.

Or yes, as I said, just put shorts on her under her dresses. Gymboree has something called "bike shorts' that is great for this purpose. And they are real cute too.

Good luck,
Susan

With my daughter, I had the same problem. I ended up finding little cotton shorts that look kind of like biker shorts. I think I found them at target. I also found footless leggings in several colors at old navy. She wears these underneath her dresses and its comfy yet keeps her undies hidden.

cotton shorts! I don't think it is appropriate to tell her that some adults look. You only feed bad thoughts into a young mind by doing so. Shame on the person who responded that way!

These are perfect.

My daughter (4) has 4 pairs and loves them - she even loves the name so its easy to get her to wear them.
