Seeking Honest Jeweler

My wedding ring needs work, keeps catching on everything and may need new setting. As I am new here, I am afraid to just go to any jeweler. I have heard horror stories over the years about that. If you know a dependable and honest jeweler, please let me know. Thank you AGAIN!!

I went to a jeweler named Howdy. The work he did for so very little. He rebuilt my wedding set, tightened the stone and polished it all up for $100. I had this priced a couple of places one wanted $1100 and another $850. What a guy, what a deal and he and his wife run the shop--such wonderful people! I recommend him 1000%

I second Jared's in Plano and Lewisville. The Plano location took my grandmother's wedding band and made it into a solitare engagement ring for me. I kept the ring the same, they just added a setting for the diamond. They also made mine & my husband's wedding bands. We designed our own and they made it to our specifications. We have had nothing but great expereince. I had to have my rings sized after I had my daughter, they took care of it. I needed a setting tighten, they took care of it. My husband lost a diamond, they took care of it.... never had any problems.

I like Jared, both the Plano and Lewisville locations.

Texas Jewelry in Carrolton. We use Mike, but everybody there is great. Family owned and operated. He has done a BUNCH of work for my mom and he made my wedding ring/engagement ring set and my husbands wedding band. They are just north of George Bush off of Josey, well worth the drive. ###-###-####

We had issues with Jared in Plano and Frisco. This was regarding jewelry we purchased for our daughter which we were told could be "traded up".

After going into the store and "trading up" as per the mananger said was ok, Jared Corp said "NO" to 1 piece of jewelry we were upgrading. SO....we were not going to tell our daughter at that point NO after the ring was being re-sized.

We ended up spending an extra $700 with no avail on the "trade up" policy as blatently advertised and sold to us when we were there for the first pieces we bought for her.

As for my diamond, appraisel was best with Richard Yerxa in the Highland Park area. He does it in front of you and your jewelry never leaves your sight. That is important to us.

Can't be too careful.
