Seeking GREAT OBGYN (Female) in SLC Area

I'm sure this request has been out before but here goes...
I need a good OBGYN preferably female, in the Salt Lake or South Jordan area. It would be nice if they accept United Healthcare. I have just found it difficult to find a good one and wanted the wealth of recommendations I'm sure you all have to offer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi M.,
Dr Kathleen Langer in the South Valley Womens Health Care
3570 West 9000 South Suite 210 West Jordan, UT. ###-###-#### Their office is connected to the Jordan Valley Hospital. She is awesome! I know several women who see her, and they all just love her. You could call to verify if they take your insurance.
good luck.

It depends on what you are looking for in a doctor. If you are looking for the best there is at deliveries and surgeries (including c-sections), go with Dr. Stephen Voss ###-###-####. I personally know about 10 women that have delivered 20 babies all together and only one of them had to have a tiny episiotomy with one of her deliveries. With the rest of the deliveries, including my three, there were no rips or snips. He's amazing. I have had several doctors and nurses recommend him as a surgeon and OB. He's not a woman - it's true. Before I saw him I only went to women. Now I would never have anyone else deliver my babies.

Hi M.,

I actually would recommend Dr Lucinda Robinson in the Aveues Womens clinic. I don't know many of the other doctors but I have had her since 1997. She is awesome! She always looks out for me and has delivered all 4 of my children. I am pretty sure that they still accept United Healthcare. You could check their website (UHC's) and see if she is a participating doc. Like I said, I don't really know the other doctors there so I'm not sure what the other person who told you not to go there experienced. Hope this helps a little. If you have any specific questions just let me know :) Good luck in the search.

Click on my name and look at my requests. I asked the same thing last year and got a few responses. I would not recommend the avenues women's center. I know of one in Layton that is in the same office as my ob, but I don't know how she is. I heard good things from people in the office. If your interested let me know. Good luck! They are super hard to find in this area (surprisingly).

I also love the Avenues Womens' Center. Dr. Jeanne Gemmell delivered all 5 of my babies and she is absolutely wonderful. I have had brief contact with other doctors and NP's in that office and they have all been very considerate, professional and thorough. I have been a patient there for over 17 years and have no plans to ever change MD's. They only employ females there and so they all are able to relate easily to you. I do not live close to downtown but have always felt like it is worth my time and the drive to go to such a great place. Good luck.
