Dr. Rebecca Jones at the Heritage Behavior Center on Spring Creek and Custer in Plano ###-###-####. She helped us deal with my daughter's birth father. It was difficult. Dr. Jones is a PhD and does therapy. She is very savvy and understands the realities of blended families and such. -Nita

I take my step-daughter to counseling as well...because of things that have happened while living with her mom. Our therapist is wonderful and I have referred her to so many of my co-workers who see her regularly. Her name is Pam Roos and she is in Plano off of Park and Ohio. Her number is ###-###-####. My family goes to Counseling and Consulting Associates of North Texas (CCA). They are located in McKinney off VIrginia so, its a little further than Allen but not too bad. There is a really wonderful woman in they practice who only deals with children, and I am sorry I don't know her name but, I have spoken with parents in the waiting room who think shes WONDERFUL.

I also have a 12 year old daughter and have had her and myself in counseling do to both parents remarrying, Step mom wont's to be best friends with my daughter which makes me the bad parent and it took going to see, ( Donna Milburn Ph.D. in Plano 972/509/2611 2000 N Central Expwy Suite 110 )for me to understand it is not my job to be my daughters best friend it is my job to make sure she is safe and loved and if that make me the bad parent then so be it. I've used her for my 11 y/o daughter to help her deal with being away from her dad.
I've been divorced for 6-7yrs but her dad lives in NY since we moved here 3yrs ago.
She is very sympathetic and my daughter liked her very much.

It looks like you have had a lot of good responses. My suggestion was our church counslers at High Pointe Church of Christ in Mckinney. They are excellent and not as expensive as other therapist. I know that it is further up than intended but it gives you more options.

Dr. Jane Levieux - she is a pyschologist who has an office in Plano three days a week; she works at Children's Medical Center of Dallas on the Psych Consult Team two days a week. Very good.

Mary Lee is a licensed professional counselor in Allen. We have known her for years. She is located at the Center for Family Counseling and Play Therapy on Bethany Road. I do know she takes insurance for her services.
