B.,

I attend Alpine Community Church in Riverdale. (From I-15 head east on Riverdale Road. At the first stop light turn right and you will see signs that will lead you to the church.) It is a great non-denominational church with great Bible based teaching. There are weekly home groups as well that are a great way to get to know others in the church. The services are at 9, 1030, and 1200. You can also check out the website at www.alpinechurch.org. You can email me if you would like any more information at ____@____.com. Please let me know if you are coming as I would love to meet you. I have a 5 year old (just turned 5!) and she loves to meet new kiddos.

Hi B.,

I am certain you will get a lot of great responses, but I am so grateful for the Biblically based teaching at our church that I wanted to say something when I read your post.We searched for quite a while when we first moved here in April before finding this precious church. We attend Grace Church of Utah in Layton. It is across from Target on Antelope at the Castlebrook Event center. The Pastor is an expository preacher, and is going through the book of Judges right now. I am totally convicted every Sunday and yet entirely blessed and encouraged. There is Womens & Mens Bible studies each week, and small groups meet once a month at different peoples houses. There are not tons of kids as it is a smaller church like maybe 75-100 people ( I am only guessing at the size), however, we have 6children, and there are at least 10-15 or more kids besides ours. I could say a lot but you could also go to the Website, it is www.graceutah.org . i am not doing justice to how wonderful this church is, i am sorry, I am sleepy and should go to bed...!!! You can email me personally ____@____.com if you would like and i would be happy to give you anymore info I can.

Gratefully His, K.

I am Christian (LDS) and I too am a single mom. I go to church in East Ogden. You are welcome to come. If you want something non-LDS in Kaysville there is a really nice non-LDS Christian church on the corner of my sisters street. It's pretty new. You go down 89 to 200 north and then go west for quite a ways on 200N. till you get to Angel Street. Turn left on Angel street and go for about 4 miles?? and the church is on the right hand side on the corner of Leola.

The church I go to is East of Harrison Blvd off 22nd street. I know there are also some Christian churches that are non LDS near the library in the Ogden Historic district on Jefferson I think...

Hope you find what you are looking for.

My family is LDS and devotedly Christian. We live in Central Ogden and our congregation is both ethnically and economically diverse, which we really appreciate. There's a very welcoming attitude and great children's Primary activities. You would be most welcome to attend there; the building is on the corner of 26th and Jackson Avenue with meetings at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays.
We have several Episcopalian friends who speak very highly of Good Shepherd Episcopal, which is downtown, on Grant and maybe 22nd, I think. My son has participated in their children's Christmas service, and it was terrific--the director of the children's programs there is a kindergarten teacher and she is amazing.
Welcome to Ogden--best wishes for settling in comfortably!

There is a great church in Ogden (proper) called 'God's Place'. It's on Grant Avenue by the Macy's and Chuck-O-Rama off of Washington. The Pastors are Shannon and Nancy Schreyer. They are great people and it is a very friendly church. Hope you will try there.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints commonly referred to as "Mormons" have a strong belief in Jesus Christ. Some people mistakenly think that this church is not Christian but as a member, I know that Jesus Christ is the head of the church. There are programs for all ages, Primary for children ages 3 to 12 and Relief Society for the women along with Sunday School classes for everyone. There are also programs for the young men and women, ages 12-18. To learn more you can call the local mission office to have missionaries come teach you about our religion. The number is: ###-###-#### or you can go to websites http://www.mormon.org or http://www.lds.org

We did a lot of searching when we moved here 2 years ago. We finally found Layton Hills Baptist Church. It's in Layton on Hillfield road. From the highway take the Hill Air Force base exit on Hillfield road, going towards the base. It's on the right. www.laytonhills.org Sunday school starts at 9:15 and the worship service starts at 10:30. I look forward to meeting you if you decide to check us out. Drop me a note if you have any questions.
Hope you find the best place for you. and your son.

Hi B.:

I live in the Odgen area, and have put my son in the preschool at Ashension Lutheran Church on Washington Blvd. He loves it, and the teachers and staff are amazing, wonderful womoen. I know they are still accepting applications at this point even though school has already started. The church itself has a small group of kids, but very nice fellowship. I also have a few friends who attend Alpine Church on Riverdale Road and really love it. You can find out more at alpinechurch.org. I know how hard it is to move here and search for a christain church, so I wish you all the best in your search.
