Hi Moms, I am looking for recommendations for fun places to take my son who is about 1.5 years old located in the Canton/Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. I was interested in the Ann Arbor hands on museum but was unsure if it was designed mostly for older children. All age appropriate recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So What Happened?

A special thank you to those who took the time to respond. I was shocked that I didn't get more responses. We have had fun checking out the couple places there were recommended for children's play. Thanks again to those few!

My Urban Toddler in Saline.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's age-appropriate, the staff is very warm and courteous, and it's well-maintained and clean. I've been taking my sons there since they were 17 months old and they love it -- and we even drive all the way from Northville to get there. It's set up like a toddler-sized city, so the kids can wander around and play in the firehouse, school, grocery store, etc. And as a mom, I appreciate that I can relax and watch them without interfering in their play due to the way it's set up.

I took my daughter when she was about 15 months old and she loved it. The play center at the local mall is always a good thing to do as well.

I agree...Urban Toddler is wonderful!

The Ann Arbor Hands On Museum has a great toddler room. It's an enclosed room (so no escaping!), and it's filled with lots of fun things for the little ones! Also, the Detroit Science Center has a similar kind of thing, so both are great.
