We are eagerly seeking for a really good pediatrician in the Willowbrook area. Furthermore we are very interested in socializing. As a second language speaker it is very important to come together with others (although the baby needs social contacts and playdates)and I want to improve my English as good as I can.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi everyone,

now Ive improved a lot......its great that the moms could give me some advices. Im thankful for that. My husband had changed the pediatrician to DuPage Medical group Mid America and the pediatricians are located in Downers Grove. But for all that we hope its a good choice. I saved the recommendations for a possible switch to another pediatrician again (hopefully that this never gonna happen). I met kind peolpe and are going to meet some of them in the future ;-))) Thanks a lot to all of you, who replied to my request. Now I have a look at mamsource.com every day, maybe Im able to help someone out......

P.S.: Well join a group called PACES, they meet regularly and seems to offer interesting things....so check it out!!!!!!

Hi P.-
Dr. Spann is with Orland Primary Care Group...###-###-####; if you have Blue Cross/Shield HMO, you would have to change your group to the Southland IPA.

By the way if you find a social group in the area, please post to the website...groups like this are not as readily available in this area as they are in other areas.

Dupage Pediatrics is great... all the doctors are wonderful.. It is on Plainfield just west of Cass avenue.. I don't beleive that should be to far for you. I hope this helps.

Hi P.. =)
I would love to meet with you. I have an older child but I know she would help keep your baby entertained. I have been in your position, I was in Germany for 4 years with two small babies and it DOES feel strange being completely without family and friends! Please contact me if you would like.

I highly recommend Dr. William Barrows group in downtown Chicago. His entire group is great but I KNEW that Dr. Barrows was special when my son had an episode where he passed out (he must have been around 8 months old). He was teething and my husband and I gave him some homeopathic stuff that was recommended. I called Dr. Barrows, but my husband I rushed my son out of the house and took him to the hospital. When we got home, according to our caller id, Dr. Barrows called at least 20 times.

Our son was okay and thank God all testing went well. He has never had an episode like that since and that was over 2 1/2 years ago. My ob/gyne recommended him to us because that is where he takes his little ones. Dr. Barrows is affiliated with Northwestern Hospital.

He's fantastic!

P.,

I do not have any advice on the pediatrician, but I would suggest to you meetup.com. I am a member of four SAHM groups on this web site. We get together and do something with our children every week. It is a great way to get out and be social for both you and your child.

I agree that DuPage Pediatrics is a wonderful group. I have many friends who have been with them for years. We see Dr. Gardner who was also in my husband's pediatrician's office when he was a child. :) Their number is ###-###-####.
