I see Dr. Marc Thall on Devonshire & Sepulveda & I've had good experiences w/him. He may be a bit far for you though.

I just took my son to Visionmax Optometry in Porter Ranch yesterday for
his first professional eye exam after receiving less-than-
glowing scores from his school's routine eye exam. My husband and
I have also had our own exams there as well. The office is located
In the Porter Ranch Town Center next to the Hallmark store. Apointments
Are readily available. They accepted our insurance plan and after our
Copay and a new pair of glasses, the out of pocket expense was $68.00.

A friend of mine, Mike Cattell, has a place called Optometric Options in Northridge and it's in the shopping center that is directly diagonally across from the Northridge Mall. Right by Marshalls. He's a great optometrist, really nice and it's a really comfortable atmosphere. They do have really great prices and service is great.
